Not sure how I missed this one but yeah it's a great song and excellent performance all round. How many vox tracks you layering? More than one anyway but it sounds really tight. You're a very good song writer you know....
Thanks a lot Chris! :) I'm having so much fun writing and sometimes I go back and think "did I do that"? :D
Regarding the vox layering, what I usually do is one lead and 2 background at roughly -10dB, spread over say 10L/10R. I did that in the beginning to give my vocal some "body" but u less the vocals line up it can also add chaos I don't need. So right now I'm trying to learn how to do that properly - that includes some quantizing, and I also add a gate to get rid of some of it.
Anyway, let me know if you have any tips on that.
Thanks so much for listening and commenting!!
This is one of the catchiest tunes I've ever heard here on the Loop. I can tell from listening to your tracks, that you have come up with a way of writing that fits your voice as well as establishing an identity. You have a distinct vocal sound. If I hear one of your songs on the radio, I would know it's you. great sound. PEACE. T576 OUT.
Thanks a lot man, that means a lot. I fixed a couple more things, extended the section after the bridge (which is probably the funkiest part) and added some subtle horns at the end. So far it also seems to be a winner on youtube - I rarely get 20 views the first day :D
Great track - good production, beautiful guitar, nice piano, well written and superbly structured and an absolutely stellar vocal performance to boot. For a 'loungeroom' track I have to say this sounds very FM radio friendly. Congratulations : )
Wow, great words Ian! I need to polish it up a bit (theSINGLOT below had a great point) but yeah... it's slowly getting better. Thanks also to you and so many other fantastic people here. Looperman RULEZ!!
oh my G, your are right on the sweet spot, your vocal performance is in the pocket here, you gotta be pleased with this. the playing is redhot too bro, one of your very best performances to date, i can here the hard work you have put in and its a pleasure for me great production
With this song you have the feeling of sitting in a club and completely surrendering to the beat of the music. Tell me: is your living room a jazz and blues club? If so, what is the entrance fee? *smile. Good song, well done. Greetings Manuela
Hey BB, this is nailing it man. I have spent some time listening to jeff beck since his passing, and damn this coulda been an orange album track.
The singing and playing create a vibrant, immediate connection. As the others said here, you are taking it to another level. It is going on 5am here and i tell you, you just made my day.
BaoBou!! Lately, you have been in the zone!!! What have you been adding to your coffee? LOL. Another great track! I love the piano intro. For a second I thought you were bringing us to church! Your vocals are in the pocket, and it seems you are using less layering (to my ears anyways), and that is also a good thing. I think you have struck a nice balance. I hear the lyrics clearly, as well as your vocal work. The fade out is a very smart touch. Call me old-fashioned, but there is nothing sweeter than a fade out. I'd sing this at an outdoor venue without hesitation...it's just that good! Well done!
First of all, if you would actually want to sing this, that would be a huge honour and I'd be delighted. I'd love to see/hear that too :)
Yeah I can hear how this would sound with a gospel choir and man, that would totally be awesome. Maybe I can in fact add some more layering to the chorus. I was already thinking to add some brass, but my poor laptop was already struggling with just the tracks this has, so I'll need to use some trickery for that. First I need to improve the vocals a bit more.
And yes I've listened well to you and others who gave advice about lyrics/phrasing (hi Ruben). It takes time for information to sink into my thick skull, but in the end I do listen :)
Hey Erick.
I have run out of good words to say to you.
Please Help I'm in agony each time you come up with a gem like this, for you it is an everyday recurrence.
Great job as usual Budd.

Thanks so much Majid. I appreciate the kind words and it's good to have a fan :)
I feel I've been on a roll since the EP. I want to collect tracks for a longer album and I already have more than I need, so that's a good feeling I have to say :)

Description : This is only a snippet of a little thing I threw together today. It features the lead vocal of our own Janis71. I have added 3 harmonies to her original loop. Kinda sounds Disco-y. I am very new to audio mixing, and hence am only stabbing in the dark here.
Description : Did I mention that I almost daily listen to funk and disco whilst working? Well, it is the perfect mixture of positive vibes and a steady groove. However I found it always challenging to put a good groovy Disco / Funk songs together. I guess you already heard Silver Bellas song from the AlanMcLarenProject. This is my (totally different) version. Please tell me if your feet went into the groove :-) Cheers, Oli
Description : With new drums and a bit different mix. Check also the bit after say 2:20... let' call this the extended version :)
All credits to the amazing Melvatron (you can find his acapella "Disco Tribute" on this site) and Charlotte (provided by AAP, again on this site. I can't put the links here, but will link you both on the upcoming youtube. Awesome work guys and thank you so much for posting your work here.
Description : A little disco, a little funk, and just feel good 70s style music. Featuring some drum, bass, and guitar solos, with some groovy horns and disco vocals. Check it out...It will do you no harm!
Description : Inspired by true events :)
Hey Looperfam!
-The vocal is in my acapella section.
I would love to hear some remixes. It was originally recorded as punk/glam, then I found the arpeggiator.
Hit me up for hi-res source.
Have a great day!

Description : Decided to try my hand at making a 70’s old-school Disco track, shamelessly complete with a variety of Disco cliches. Tried to write some Disco lyrics but couldn’t come up with anything worthwhile. Decided to write lyrics about our cat. Name is “Bailey”, but mostly we call her “Bailey Boo”. Vocals made with Synthesizer V Studio from Dreamtonics.

Idd geen muziek meer op mtv.
Ik luister eigenlijk alleen muziek via
Youtube.
Avro's toppop bestaat sinds 1988 niet meer maar ik schrijf je wel in voor MTV .
Wel een beetje bij blijven hoor hihihi

If you allow me an observation, I personally would lower the piano a bit, at least when your voice is there.
I hope you don't mind but I have allowed myself the pleasure of remastering it, you'll tell me how it sounds.

Being compared to Jeff Beck is huge of course, but making you smile is even better!
