Hey Steven! Its great youve stopped through. Thanks for giving your impressions on this one. Now for MIKE STERN I could go on for hours about about his style and tone. I never knew how awesome a Fender Telecaster could sound but by Mike. Thank you for that mention. Peace.

Hello Mark,

as you can see, this is my 4th time here. This means that your song and the sound still fascinates me a lot.
I love the arrangement of the instruments and the fantastic solos. I can hardly tell what has changed about this song in the last few weeks. I keep finding new passages that I think I'm hearing for the first time. What I want to say is that the song is so complex and compactly constructed that you will find new interesting passages even if you listen to it repeatedly.
It seems to me that you have worked more on the central volume of the song compared to the last version? The transition at 3:11 doesn't seem so stark anymore to me either. I think the transition is more emotional now than it used to be. Is that possible or am I wrong?
Great song! Insanely good work. I think I'll come a fifth time too *smile.

Greetings Manuela

Hi Manuela. You are welcome to stop as often as you like. I remembered a comment you made, so yep, you are right. I reworked that section. Thanks again for pointing that out. Even as I listen objectively, I'm asking myself, "DID I DO THAT THERE"? LOL! Your reaction, compliments, interest, and support means everything to me. Plus you're quite the conversationalist you know. Stay safe, my friend.

OK playa I see you came with your "A Game" on this track. Love that Funky Jazz vibe, and towards the end of the track that very nice "Rock Fusion Guitar" along with the change up of the funky bass pattern...Nice. Great production and very clean mix & mastering, had to fav 4 sure.

Peace,

What's up CBC? Thanks for stopping through. I'm glad you enjoyed what you heard. The comments and compliments are appreciated. I would caution you about mentioning Ableton......... I'll make it short. The sound quality, work flow, UI, tech support, etc. It's simply the BEST. For me personally, it's intuitive. This DAW leaves nothing to be desired. Honestly, I feel like Ableton made this just for me. I'm 5 years in and I've tried many others. Peace.

Hi Mark, did you do that on purpose that the drums have a slight regular dip in volume as you can clearly hear at the beginning? Otherwise, I find the division of the individual instruments very successful. The frequencies are also well matched. Each instrument has its place in terms of sound and volume. However, I personally find the transition at 3:11 to be pretty stark. I feel like I'm slipping into another song. The following guitar solo with the horns in the beginning is masterly again. I'm looking forward to your next abdate. *smile. Greetings and have a nice weekend Manuela

Manuela Hi! I’m always grateful when you stop and go over what I’m trying to accomplish musically. So on the drums dipping I’m totally lost. I’ve scrutinized the drums and I’m not hearing any variation. Also if I took you to another place @ 3:11 that’s just how I get down. Maybe I’ll rethink that section in the next update. See I can be wild! But for the other sections you found noteworthy your musical vantage point is always interesting. Anyway you have a safe and peaceful weekend and we’ll chat soon.

HIya, Mark! Though I truly LOVED listening to this extremely well-crafted composition, I'm a bit torn. I love the percussive intro, but throughout the piece I was hoping for some percussive diversity, if that makes sense at all to you. With all the other elements there is fluidity, there is a journey, and I just didn't get that with the percussion. With all that said, I have definitely faved it, and if it were available to stream, I'd definite pay to do so. Well done!

LovePeace&Light,

Mykael! Ok so now you’re flowing with me! Let me explain…….. I’ve got some talking drums and a percussive instrument called a “My Tube” already cued up for the next round. I was hesitant to add them. I have a sliver of space in that frequency range so I have to set them with surgical precision. Let’s see how it goes. But again in the Chi dialect “You ain’t said nothing but a word” LOL! Thanks for stopping by and sharing your thoughts. The fave is of epic proportions. Be safe and have a wonderful weekend.

Hi Mark, anyone else here I would have said it's brilliant. But with you I think: It gets better! Your special drive, your room layout, your dynamics are still missing. So far everything just works well together, but not with each other like I'm used to from you. But I know in the end it will be the sound experience I want from you. Stay tuned! Greetings Manuela

Manuela. Greetings and salutations, comrade. Thank you very much for the stop and evaluation. This was totally unplanned. I really needed to get this idea down. Then sort through the refinements. I will add some effects to make some of the instruments float. I'm playing around with a 3D panner that I'll implement on the next update. So please stay tuned and have that great weekend. Be safe.

That drum into got me straight off, what a great beat. Awesome jam session. As I was listening I was thinking along the same lines as BB, that maybe it needed a wee bit of space or structure, and that the instrument solos were quite short before moving onto the next one, but then again maybe not... it's a jam and a blast so who needs structure?

That's amazing Mark. The drum intro is perfect, the brass is super funky.
At 1:12 I'm not sure if you start a new section there - if so, consider to have the key melody a bit lower or maybe even absent for a bit to create a bit more space in the sound, so we know as listeners this is the verse or the break etc.
The section from 4:37 would be a perfect "chorus" if you're looking to add some structure. It would be a great part to repeat a couple times, provide some reference to the listener and be a great hook.
Think about it :) In any case I had loads of fun going back and forth in the song and listening to it!!

BaoBou! The saga continues:)! Honestly, this was a pop-up. Totally unintentional. Yep I was working on something different and then this groove tho.......stopped me dead in my tracks. So I laid down this initial form. Then next I'll improve it and consider your suggestions. Watch out for the next round. Description : Do not freak out just because this is jazz! There's also blues, rock, funk and a little hip hop in it to break up the deep, chillout jazz sections - gets particularly rocking then funky at the end. Main bassline (the track's foundation) is recycled leftover slide resonator guitar parts detuned one octave to make a slide bass sound. Also features: piano, violin, hammered dulcimer, organ, ethereal pad guitar, bass guitar, jazz/blues/rock electric guitar and multiple programmed acoustic drumkits. This was difficult to make at times as I thought I needed more leads parts eg from sax or trumpet. But I'm happyish with the end result. I expect very little interest in this as it's both jazz and long jazz. But it's also an unusual type of genre-mixing jazz. So, leave your thoughts, good or bad, if you like...

Description : This track contains only free loops from Stayonbeat.com and several loops from Looperman artists (listed below). I "made a promise" that my next track will be use a lot of jazzy loops - well, i done with this track, for the great sadness of jazz lovers or experts i think - i fear they will never forgive me. :) While my ISP launches my internet out of the Earth system for a long time, i had to face the fact that i dont have too much downloaded jazz loops on my computer, so i think no wonder that this one is sounds like if i smoke some marihuana while making it. But hey, who cares, i like the result - it reminds me the (maybe only) really funny episode of "Breaking Bad", where Pinkman uses some heroin and flyes up with an idiotic smile on his face - that chapter is priceless. :D
I dont think this one needs a vocal, but ofcourse you can use it if you want, and as always, just write and i will give any support as i can. Any feedback welcomed too as always. Enjoy! UPDATE 2015.10.24.: improved audio quality - lower lows, higher highs. Now in 256kbps!
