Yeah man, that's how it works. I recognise your struggle with DAWs - they absolutely boggled me when I started making music 5 years ago and I'm still struggling with Ableton and discovering new tricks and concepts regularly.
Same for making music - I had a bit more background than you but the main thing is to make a tiny step every day and 5 or 10 years from now you'll look back at the journey you made :)
Oh, and from experience I can tell you now... Get a teacher :)
Especially the past 1.5 years I've made much bigger strides due to amazing teachers, first for drumming, then singing, then production... And that really made a huge difference.
My advice is always the same, see if you can make a track with it yourself! It's cool you made a melody; see if you can find chords that go well with it. It may not be easy but it will help you to grow as a creator, and create stronger melodies. Good luck!
Yes, I have to take care of chords, which I have neglected so far.
On the other hand, I am glad to have brought it to the present state at all. Half a year ago a DAW was a complete mystery to me and I really found absolutely no access to this mystery; absolutely not, not even rudimentary (my musical activity and knowledge had never gone beyond elementary school time) and someone whose knowledge in these things I could have queried was also not there.
It was really infinitely tedious.... In this respect, I am very grateful if people give me hints and tips. I do not take it for granted and appreciate it very much!
Kind regards from Germany

Description : Hi, I just had to try and do my own type of music tribute to the sad and unfortunate events in Manchester the other night
I start the song off with a type of music box to represent like a young child and then i go into a violin strings to try and set the sadness and then after a while i used some soft drum and clicks to represent time ticking and then with just the piano and then in the middle of the track it picks up pace a bit and i decided on this because to represent the strength of the people that will stand strong and i once again also put the music box in with this and my reason was to be strong for the rest of the children and then i finsh up with the piano again and the ending on the drum to remember the lives sadly lost and a type of silence if it were
i really feel so sadened by this event and it trully has me in bits
may we all come together and forever be strong and stand up to these horrible people who think they can destroy us and our children and families and loved ones

Description : Recorded this a while ago.. Raw, lovely.. I'm an electric guitarist so this is unfamiliar territory for me... I always wanted to master classical acoustic and I will one day. Video here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yMt7o3ty9pw *Edit* Despite this being painfully obvious, this is not my composition, it's an effort to learn classical guitar and note the progression for future nostalgia.. This site is making me think I should give the anti-vaxxers some credence. Ffs.
Description : A short sonata like form composed with a 1967 Steinway Grand and the BBC Symphonic Orchestra plugins. More originals can be found on my soundcloud - listed on my profile.
