Sheeit, it's been a while. Sorry for the very late response. Yeah, I liked this track, and I'll associate it with that night and the aurora that inspired it. Happy xmas and new year Aaron. Cheers Chris
I meant the song "Let it happen" from one of the first Albums from Vangelis. Totally different than the later stuff ... As I said, Psychodelic. Cheers, Oli
That is a lovely comment, I'm so happy it spoke to you in some way. In my fantasy world, I like to think some of that magical aurora I was watching found its way into the music....Cheers Zoot.
I just need to leave a comment here, because that production (heard it last night first time) is just a amazing piece of music. I always adore the ability for the sisters to go back in time with their productions and reinvent the feelings from the past with their production. You both nailed it so much. I was listening to an early song from Vangelis lately from the beginning of the 70s where Psychedelic music was still en vogue. I am not so into the words of a song, more than the feelings a story will bring up inside me. And both, the style of compositions and the story itself is always on point. Great collab. Thanks for sharing that with us. Cheers, Oli
Thanks so much Oli. You had me confused initally then I rememberd you guys are some sort of double act! That's a very nice comment, I greatly appreciate it. I only really know Vangelis from Chariots of Fire (I think?), I should check some more out. All the best, Chris.
Hi there Zootman.....this is a track im glad I listened to....I thoroughly enjoyed this and liked the message right away....the line" Starman come on down we need you now" is so true, seems like the world is a mess. The vocals male and female are great....the harmonies and effects are really good and fit well....it's a well done track.
Thanks so much from myself and on behalf on the True Sisters. Yeah, I'm in my 50's and I try not to be pessimistic but it does seem to me that collectively we've lost our way. I figure if we find some life somewhere in the universe maybe, just maybe, we might get over ourselves and stop all this squabbling. It does feel like we're at some sort of tipping point. But then again, maybe every generation thinks the world might be ending I don't know. Whatever. Thanks again, Chris.
Greetings, Didnt noticed this one until manuela told me about it. Now this was a very nice collab project with the people involved on this one. I digged it all the way. It's interesting to see that some of the collabs can turn out into very nice musical art pieces. This is a rarity nowadays. The vocals were a very nice touch in this song. A solid and nice piece indeed. The melodie on itself was also very nice. All in all a collaberation that did become a succes. Well done people & one for the favs as well. Have a good one all & one love. Verdi
Hi Verdi, I'm very glad you enjoyed this track. I know you tend to be very honest and straightforward in your comments and certainly say so if you think something isn't right or you don't like something. Which is a good thing! I was happy with the track itself, and I love what Manuela and her team brought to it. Thanks for the listen, Chris.
I understand your perspective. Depending on the beliefs and experiences with your own beliefs and experiences, music can cause powerful emotions and different interpretations. It is interesting how texts can accept different meanings for different listeners. Her observation of the irony in replacing "Gott" by "Starman" shows how adaptable music can be. Everyone finds their own way of connecting to art, and it is completely valid to have mixed feelings at certain aspects. Yes, I also feel that Richard's texts have almost a small missionary character. I also talked to him. It was interesting that he once wrote to me that he hadn't been in a church for a long time. But I don't think it's bad. As long as you don't want to convince someone and accept the opinion of others, and Richard seems to do that, that's okay. He, knows my opinion. And he really makes good music.
Yeah I agree totally. People hear completely different things, or maybe choose to focus on certain things and filter other stuff out. Anyhow, this tracks seems to keep growing on me, so thanks again. My daughter Tui likes it too, she reckons if it was on spotify she'd put it on her playlist lol. High praise from her.
I liked your music and of course the works from the whole singing team. I have tried to read the comments but my English lack some of it. What I only can say is that judging is a profound procedure not to be applied in any case easily or spontaneously, after all it might be better for freedom as a high human right. I liked the production and I liked the total outcome
Wish you all the best, Anthony.
Man, life gets busy. I forgot all about replying to these comments. I try not to judge anyone, everyone's fighting some sort of battle I think. Thanks for listening Anthony
"Starman" can have mythological meaning in different contexts. With David Bowie's famous song "Starman," it could be argued that he represents a kind of messiah or savior figure, someone who brings hope and delivers a message of change and new beginnings to people.
In a broader mythological perspective, a "Starman" could be seen as a celestial being, often representing higher powers, cosmic forces, or divine messages. Think of figures like Hermes in Greek mythology, who carried messages between the gods and humans, or the concept of star children in various cultures who possess special wisdom or powers.
No matter how you interpret it, the figure of "Starman" always seems to represent a connection to something larger and transcendent.
What does Starman mean
"Starman" can have different meanings depending on the context. In pop culture, it is best known for David Bowie's song of the same name, in which an extraterrestrial being brings hope and a message of change to people. In a broader mythological context, a "Starman" could be interpreted as a celestial being or messenger of higher powers, similar to Hermes in Greek mythology. It's a figure often associated with something greater and transcendent. Sounds fascinating, right?
Yes it does. In my mind it was an appeal to a greater power, hopefully one with more wisdom than humanity, to help us 'find our way'. Slightly ironic for me personally as an atheist (though still spiritual) individual is that you could easily substitute Starman for God lyrically if you were so inclined. I observed as much to Richard after cheekily saying I liked his music but found the Christian aspect off-putting!
Wow ... the right talents have come together here. Congratulations on this great, beautiful song... great collab. I really enjoyed hearing it!
Cheers,
Micky
Thanks Micky, started out trying to make a electronica track hence the intro and some of the synths but it morphed when I stumbled across the basline. Hope all is well with you. Cheers, Zoot
nice work everybody, great vocals calming music, nice harmonies too, good collaboration guys the results are a great track and listen, well done with the idea Chris i like a bit of Starman myself as you know lol, the girls always seem to deliver irrelevant
Manuela - Kate Bush is my fave artist ever and you also have that ethereal quality of hers in your voice. You create Magic! Just had to add that...Kay0s
Truely lovely. Those female vocals remind me of Sally Oldfield a litle bit - so pure. The opening is wonderful - put in the mindframe of Nights in White Satin from the Moody Blues. The male vocal adds warmth and anchors the feeling through this wondrous journey you take us on. Wunderbar! Kay0s
Thanks KayOs. Manuela and co did a fantastic job. I was nervous of my own singing on this as in one of first iterations I opened up and sang quite high so thought hmmm who can I get to disguise my singing lol.
When you asked us if we could imagine producing a song with you and sent us your wonderful music with your singing, Angelica immediately said, "Let's do it." Once Claudia delved into the mythological significance of the Starman and wrote the lyrics, which we unfortunately had to shorten to make them fit, everything else fell into place.
I must say, singing in the "Dm" key was quite a challenge for me. At first, I sang the whole song too low. But now that it's finished and knowing you like Kate Bush, it fits well. However, if I had to sing a whole concert in that key, I'd be ready for the ENT clinic. smile
Chris, there's half a world between us, but I think we've created something wonderful together. Thank you for your idea and your wonderful music.
I'm very glad you took the bait! I'm curious what mythological significance you found re. Starman. I thought he/it was just a figment of my imagination lol. And next time I'll try to make something in a lower key....thanks for all your work on this. Cheers Chris

Description : I had the idea that this lyric could be rapped over my track but not having the skills to do that repurposed Joni's masterful voice - It seems a little jarring at first but I kind of like how it fits as it goes along - My multitracked classical guitar and my constructed beat from various vst kits and 'you know who ' sampled vocal (cut up just a little). Not sure about genre
