I agree with Richard, this is 100eel-good song mate :) great work!
And pretty amazing the Yamaha still works, but 199 back in 1997 bought you pretty much a car or a small house I think ;)
Thanks Mate! lol, it's not that bad economically, but like a $700 synth now ehh! Snd to be honest, My Korg MS2000 crapped out (power supply, and my Korg Trinty crapped to, (Power supply), but this Yamaha keeps on giving. Nowadays I have moved onto soft synths (Sigh)
I started feeling it around 1:24such a great, positive vibe that makes you move. And the fact that you pulled this from decades ago shows youve always had great taste in music, man
Steven youve got a nostalgic and not dated throwback that really sounds great. And yep I totally loved those housey piano chords @ about 1:26 with that fire string arrangement that followed. Synths are excellent! Your passion translates wonderfully! Keep on doing what you do! Peace.
Well I liked this from the first note... it hits you promisingly, then it develops. Keeping the listener hooked is one of the biggest challenges and you definitely knew and know a lot about it! Your synths sing beautifully! A great timeless track.
Cheers,
Micky
cant believe i hadn't seen this, 2 weeks wtf, you just featured, lol, there's not much to say than you have been bringing this quality of house forever, whatever style you bring you deliver, you analyse everything, everything is there for a reason, to tantalise, bring highs and lows, your a great talent and about time you spent more time with us and collab with me :))
Hey, Sorry for the disappearing act. There's lots going on with my Elderly Dad, and work is intense (in a good way). I'm getting the itch again to record. I always have loved this chord Progression and the Key of FMinor
Hello, when I was 12 years old, the age I was when the song was created, I never thought about a career in music. Like other girls my age, I was just going through a difficult, rebellious phase. At least, thats what I think. Ill ask my mom about it tomorrow *Smile. But this shows how timeless music can be. I tip my hat to you and the other old hands here who have stayed true to themselves and their music for so many years, enriching the music scene with their vast experience and passion. Thank you for that!
Best regards,
Manuela
So in the year when you were born, is when I came up with that chord structure at the age of 16. That was the first time I was able to use modern decent equipment to make that work in a way I wasn't disgusted with. I will say that I evolved quite a bit after I had a work colleague tell me to stop making pop drivel, and handed me a Casette of Underground NYC house music. I was floored at the simplicity, complexity, and minimalism of it. It took a few years to understand ho and when to build a dance track that people would resonate with. Thank you for listening!
I only have one surviving track from 27 years ago. Maybe 2 if I dig deep enough in the files. Sometimes I think about posting it, but then I listen to it again, and I just can't bring myself to do it. I still love it simply because it was one of my first completed tracks, but man...it's rough.
There are a lot of elements in this track that take me back to when I first started. I do really dig the synth work at 2:05. I like the cutoff/Reso work.
Cool work, man. Thanks for sharing.
Yeah, I have aprox about 200 songs from 98-2004 when I took an 8-year break. Then from 2012 on I embraced Acid Pro and samples. I seem to be falling back into break mode again.
Yeah the DJX had a sequencer and you could record live tracks on it, then dumped it to a Sony MDMX 4 track Minidisc recorder to add more. Finally, it was remastered with modern software.
I used the Yamaha DJX and hooked up to a Atari ST back in 1998.
Made tunes that were going round the demo scene and rave scenes back then.
I loved mine back then and hearing them sounds sound cool.
I love the tune nice work.
27 years? Man u been in the game for a long time. I knew your were old but.... that's almost as old as me lol. Nice tune. I like that synth that comes in about half way through. Actually, for that matter, all the synth work sounds great. Hope you are well and good, Zoot.
Description : Unofficial preview* of my upcoming first produced track named Therapy. Litterly a cut out of the track. Uploaded with first thought of letting it hear to a fellow Looperman member for a possible collab later on.
Comments are welcome tho!
About the preview, after the drop will start to another semi drop and with an harder more rawish main chorus part behind. Everything is as good as done now and being checked by demo listeners for response and feedback before getting a last hand at mixing&mastering.
Description : My first house song (on looperman). It's actually mix of progressive and dutch house. Hope you'll enjoy this! :) If you have time you can leave feedback, it's always appreciated!
Description : Ugly ass witch house beat that isn't technically a house beat. (The Drum Track is by LM's Danke.) The Track's based on an older beat of mine with the same name. This version's half as long & not as busy. The Synths are Synthmaster, Massive, Dark Keys & Creep Piano. And of course, It wouldn't be a Clickbait Cabaret beat without nine zillion FX plugins. Pretty sure all of them are on this beat.
Description : Funk House/Disco inspired by Daft Punk
No Samples used
Instruments:
Various vintage synths
Kontakt libraries: Ilya Efimov Telecaster for guitar, Session Horns Pro, Chris Hein Strings, NI Guitars
Vocals: Plogue Chipspeech & Alter Ego
Description : check out janimifsson for these vocals
learning how to do house
good vocal effects
terrible drums
couldnt find a melodic loop to fit the track
figured out the key
the harmony basically matches the melody
probably in some dorian scale or something so
have to learn about that
the drums are my weakest point
good at the start but awful after the beat drop
please comment any songs to listen to to learn drums in this style
any advice please comment
Description : Melodic Progressive House with the lyrics by Mr.Shammi (visit his account here for incredible nice acapellas!). The ref is in Melbourne-Bounce-Style.
Description : Update: So this was the looper tune that started it all for me on this site. Hard to believe it was Over 10 years ago. This tune carries the ethos I bring to music...interesting, always change the genre mid-flight and you won't see what's coming next. Also cool to see the early comments and who is still around as well. (#Feeling retro tonight) Orig: Trance-step tune that changes direction a few times
And pretty amazing the Yamaha still works, but 199 back in 1997 bought you pretty much a car or a small house I think ;)
