Yeah, the mandolin gives the special melancholic touch. I personally miss some acoustic drums coming up half the track or so.
Nevertheless, great song! cheers
I love this! It's like, ooo, who does this remind me of.. pre-punk stuff softened. Can't put my finger on the singer though.
Are you still working on this? If you want I could lay down some ahh, oos you may be able to place into the background to add escalation to the song without taking away from the minimalism.
Thanks a lot Evrim!
I would be honoured if you could add something to the song since I love your work as you know
Here's my mail, just message me and I'll sen you the track

Mate thought would drop byy to see what you have going on, mate very nice piece, yep can hear the Wayne factor here, he is one extremely talented guy, again as I have said before man I love your voice, so love this piece even though it is a sad piece, it is very touching for anyone that has lost the love they have loved with all there heart, love everything about this piece dude...adding this one to fav's, very well done...Peace n Respect Stephane...Estefano...
A very melancholic but pop sound you have here, with that catchy little ad-lib vocal you put in now and then. Definately a track of real substance and has gone into my fav's....well done you and the Humpsman.
love this one...the guitar, the lyrics, the voice, the percission everything is well put together ...a bit melancholic ..your voice gives me chills sounds so true and honest...nice collab fellas
You have such talent! The vocals on this song are so well executed! The mandolin really seems to add a lot, though I didn't hear the version without it. Very cool subtle percussion! Nice track man!
Beautiful.. If You can write that? I also LOVE Depeche Mode, Bowie and so on.. and have done that for years.. Since I was a young girl.. and U2.. a lot of new wave groups..
StÃÂphane - hello! A gift to hear you and Wayne work together again - the sounds are sublime, but i gotta step out on a limb here and say the lyrics would be better served with drum in the last verse/chorus - nothing splashy but something that anchors the point - the finality, the track starts with such lightness, but by the end things just ain't funny anymore. well, how's that for two cents, my friend - peace.
Hey Michael,
Thanks for your review.I think you got a point with the drums in the end.I listened to the track again and you're definitely right! The problem is that I'm not a beatmaker really so I thought maybe you'd like to add the drums?
Thanks a lot for the very relevant suggestion anyway
Cheers

Wow, interesting mix, you chopped and placed things where you wanted them, cool! I was wondering what you were doing over there with all those tracks I sent, doing some mixing I hear!!!
Your vocals really stand out now and they sound great too. No bass? It was a bit busy with the mando, I didn't care for it when I put the two together, well, they were recorded seperately and prob not meant to be in the same mix anyway.
Hi Wayne,
I felt so stupid when you told me about panning last time and so I have to thank you again cause I've been remixing a lot of my tracks these last days and some were really improved I think thanks to that.I made a version with the bass but I still think it's a bit busy with.
Cheers

kik A$$, serious upgrade this one.. i liked the acoustic version u did, but this is complete bro. awesome man.. :-)
@wayne - mandolin goes like cream, very very well executed..
Great guitar sound and song,It really does sound good stripped. For myself I hear a Santana lead maybe or clean and jazzy,I tend to think on guitar terms.I might have to plug the guitar in and jam with this one myself!

Hey Frenchkid,I played with this. You know the more I listen it seemed to have a complete life of it's own, everything I tried took away instead of adding to,you don't want to cover up that sweet mandolin. It does stand alone as a great song,I have played guitar long enough to know when not to.Now having said that, let's definitly do something together!
You decided to go with an electric rather than the acoustic, I think you made a good decision. Nice vocal performance and nice effects on them. Excellent recording overall, is it mastered?
I'm volunteering to add a bass line when you get to that point. Percussion, bongos, and more percussion, lol!!!! That's all I have to say about that.
Hi French kid.
When I listen to this tune I get this urge to play guitar, good music does that to me.
Can't wait to hear the finished piece and how you will arrange the tune. (Probably a bit differnt than I.)
Again a fantastic song.
Cheers

Great acoustics really enjoyed this one the lyrics especially great metaphors in your song writing, good quality sound, can't think of no suggestions but i was feeling as if a shaker was going to be introduced down the line at some point, don't matter tho really enjoyed this, nice one Frenchkid
Hi Stephen,
Thanks for the nice review. The shaker is a pretty good idea cause I think the drums or percussion part mustn't be too forward in the song. Thanks for the suggestion
Cheers

Well done
