Description : OK so originally this track was just a guitar synth with some pads accompanying it. I've now added vocals, drums, bass and automation to this track, and got all the levels right within these past 24 hours for this dead project revival thing set up by Dungbeatl. This is still a very short track, but don't worry, I'm going to add more to it. This is just the beginning... man that line sounds so cheesy.

Anyhow, sit back, relax and enjoy the track!

Vocals by me.
Track by me.
Drum samples from various image line packages.

VSTs used: DSK Techsynth (Guitar) Gladiator 2 (Pad) 3xosc (bass and vocodes)

UPDATE!: Completely remixed this track. Sounds WAY different from what it used to. Added more synth layers, pumped up the tempo, and just generally sounds better now. Kinda inspired by NickQ, so thanks for making good songs nick! :P

Definatly need to work on the drums on this one, but I don't think I'll get much with this track though, not as a breakbeat one, but more likely as a dance-ish thing, like the original.

I dunno, I'll get something eventually.

Thanks for the review!

This is very nice Stephen. Too short though imo. Needs to be processed a bit too I think. The treble is too forward compared to the bass I think. It also needs a bit of compression. The track is a almost an ambient Trance piece. Very pleasant to listen too. Nice.

Too short to me too, definatly need to work on this one. I think I also need to make more mid notes as a lot of them are treble or bass. As for compression, it doesn't really take long for me to get it right, so thats not a problem.

Glad you enjoyed the listen!

Nicely done. This piece has all the makings of a hit. If you wanted, you could take it in a "Muse/Pink Floyd" direction and add some guitar work to it (power chords for a rock section in the middle, maybe a David Gilmour lead added) and then step back and collect your money for your hit record. The mix is terrific. Like everyone else, I just wanted more :) Keep at it, this one is special.

Hmm.. not a bad idea. A guitar would take this track in another direction. Only problem is that I cant play and my samples really don't sound that good. but its an idea.

Glad to know that you think this track is special, because I've got a few plans for it, but not as it is at the moment (I need to add more things)

thanks for the review!

A very enjoyable song my friend! The synth work is really creative, and fun to listen to. I hope you decide to extend this one, because it's so worth it! An awesome sonic experience! Faved for sure!

Hey STE,
Nice work here, I am not usually a fan of trance (nothing against it tho) but this has a nice watery vibe to it that I just love.
I especially love the tape stop/glitch at 0:25-0:26 into the frantic detune lead. All the synth sounds in this really flow.
Cheers

(needless to say I liked it)

The detune lead you mentioned was me messing around with fl studios WASP plugin, automation on the sustain. First sound I put into this project. The tapestop was from Dblue glitch, there was supposed to be a gate on it as well, but I think it sounds bettet without it.

Thanks for the review, will take a look at your songs sometime soon (probably tommorow by the looks of it)

This is really, really good. Love this sound here. This is the first time I get to hear a track of yours(I usually roam the featured track box lol), so didn't know what to expect. Blown away. I've kinda gotten used to seeing the electronic tag and hearing really loud synths and dirty sounding 4 on the floor beats. Not that theres anything wrong with some grit, but dynamic is something to cherish also. I consider this a pleasure. When this gets finished(hopefully), its easily gonna be a great track. Already is in my book. Cheers :D

So thanks for the review and the fav!

Nice track Stephen! Glad you ressurected this one, it has a great positive upbeat feel to it, look forward to hearing it progress. I love the effects on the guitars, was that the Edge from U2 playing? haha! Nice job, keep us posted in the thread when you finish it!

The effects on the guitar were Fl9's hardcore VST, Fruity Delay 2, EQUO, Para EQ and Para EQ2. It made the guitar sound a whole lot better, and I'm really proud of myself for getting the sound I wanted out of it.

I will post when this gets finished, thats if I ever manage to think past what I've got so far :)

Thanks for the review!

But it was, after all, a try.
Thus, it is not completely different, ´cause i have not sung this time.
And it is electronic music but .....

However, I like the resulting song. Hope you too. Only 1 sample was used here - Anubis-Anubis-Loop all the synth´s are played by me and i added some drumsounds with powerdrums2 played by myself Comments are sure welcome.

Description : Another attempt in my continuing efforts to learn how make a trance track. Is intended to have a vocal doing the melody. Would try to find a singer but need to work out lyrics first. For this track I tried to make the melody not too repetitive. I limited it to four bars max of the same melodic phrase.

Just changed the bpm to 138, swapped out the drums and slightly changed the drop. That's all I've had time to do since I uploaded the house/techno version. Originally this was going to be DnB edit but I got tired of trying to find the perfect kick and percs
