Posting a sub bass really makes this otherwise cool beat useless for users who want to take it and meld it into their own works. You should upload the sub separate :)
You should ask Shan how many loop downloads you have! I learned that I have grand total of 267,000+ loop downloads - more than some of Looperman's top loop contributers! Safe to say I was pretty stoked to see that because that means my loops are being utilized in ways unimaginable to me.
I'm glad to see you're contributing in this way, there are very few of us who go the extra mile for other users. I tend to do stuff not related to mainstream music (trap, hip hop, etc) and focus more on pop, punk, indie and other genres that don't have as much of an up-front following (Looperman is heavily occupied by Trap/Hip Hop users, as I'm sure you're already aware haha), hence why you may see more downloads on your more recent loops. This is no competition, just different genres :)
I've only been here for under a year, maybe less than 6 months since I've gotten access to upload loops so my total downloads probably aren't half as close aha
But you're right Looperman is heavily occupied by trap/hip pop artists, I wasn't comparing in any demeaning way sorry if it came off like that, I just meant that since I appeal to the more general crowd, I get bombarded a lot with requests!
But it's great that you go towards more less crowded genres, I myself enjoy using those types of loops from here, and since I use loops from here, I feel the need to give back to the community as well, it's great that you're posting stuff, good karma will come around :)
And I don't mean to spam, but all the loops I upload here are completely free and always have been - I don't require credit for any of my loops, though more often than not people love them so much they donate anyways (or hire me to do custom recordings for their music). It's fun when you get serious and, again, can be worthwhile for you in the long run. Okay, Ill stop writing books now :P
It's not spam, it's just conversation. :) I don't know if you've actually looked at all my loops but my average downloads are actually more than yours, so you can imagine that we are in a similar situation with people asking for loops and requests. I also don't require credit, since after all looperman contract prevents us from asking for that anyways aha
I started charging about six months ago because I've been getting too many requests for loops that I can't keep up with them anymore! Quality loops will always draw more attention to your work, that's how I ended having to charge to begin with! My original point was if you go the extra mile to produce a well-made loop (even if it's free), you could actually draw enough attention to yourself to possibly produce a decent return off of your works with the right amount of effort - because you definitely have the talent and skill for it! Have a good day!
I get 20+ emails daily from people on looperman asking for loops and I've sold exclusive loop packs to plenty of people here, I just don't charge them for anything related to what's already been posted here :) thank you for that compliment and you have a good day too
Understood. It's no real extra work other than playing it twice and then panning it into a single stereo track for Looperman. I do it on most of my electric guitar samples I've uploaded here. It was just a thought, but you do you :)
Hey! You should upload a double-track version of all your guitar loops like this, that way users (like myself) who want to use it in projects can split the stereo track and treat each panned track as separate tracks! Just a thought!
True! But most people here just take the work, give no credit and that's the end. I don't gain anything from posting here so I won't go through the effort of exporting separate stems.
However, people here who go on ahead and follow me on soundcloud and social media are always free to request MIDI files or separate stems I've used in any of my looperman loops and I give it to them, free of cost.
No worries, recorded drums are always a necessity here. I've provided many drum samples myself. https://www.looperman.com/loops/detail/145004/worth-drum-kit-verse-145bpm-pop-drum-loop - this is from a song I recorded and found here on Looperman. Just a kit and a tambourine, simple and clean. I have several dozens of drum samples on my page. I'm not trying to spam this loop, just looking for discussion because drummers are rare!
Keep contributing! Looperman needs creative loopers like you.
I meant it looks like you cut the loop ends at the 2 beat instead of the 4th best of the measure. Just an odd cut, that’s all.
As a professional studio musician, I could argue about the importance of timing for a foundational percussion instrument (without losing soul or authenticity in play style), but your drumming is fine.
Haha sorry, I got a bit defensive there. Yeah it is kinda weird, but let's say it was on purpose (it's one of the first ones I uploaded).
I think nowadays it's much more important to develop your own timing and feel on drums, since so much can be done on computers. It's not perfect yet (probably never will be), but I'm looking for that good stuff between 0 and 1, you know? If you need a similar beat or any type of beat really, hit me up, I can record whatever you need. Recently switched to a better sound processor so quality should be better, too.
It is in time, just played with a loose feel. If you want a perfectly quantified beat, use a plugin. My beats would lose meaning if I played them like a machine - the imperfections are the most important part of my beats.
It's the Roland Octapad, which is sort of a digital pad with analogue output, hence the slight unevenness in my drumming (you may want to correct it a bit if you're good at that).
