Hey! I don't know if it's too late, but I'd love to mix and master your song if you want to. I really liked the vibes and I think it has potential. You can contact me at Instagram: izzyzaidbeats , or send me and email to izbeats.sales@gmail
Thanks!
Seems like a very nice song! You don't want to over produce this, just find a way that maybe your vocals come out better, but I'm not sure if the recording would allow that (the vocals seem a bit muffled, and maybe you recorded them together with the guitar)?
There are hundreds of people here who are better at mastering/producing than me, but if nobody else offers, send me a DM in a week or so, send me the stems (with minimal effects) and I'd love to give it a go. At the very least I can be a second pair of ears.
Great work!
A real mellow and scrumptious! track here, like the vocals a lot very smooth! indeed. one of the best! indie tracks I have heard here, seriously, wow so nice!
The guitarist is Melanie Faye, but the song itself is by Mariah Carey titled "My All", which was and still is a very popular R&B hit. I can hear that the key was changed, but that doesn't change the fact the melody is from an already copyrighted song from an entertainer who's record label doesn't play when it comes to copyright violations.
Unless he got it cleared via Mariah's record label, which I highly doubt, then its not a cleared sample. Just because its up on You Tube being played by a musician doesn't mean its up for grabs.
I'm hoping you didn't release this for-profit, because other people will recognize it too. But you can save yourself some grief in the future by working on your own talent and original creations. Chances are everybody else who isn't well versed in songs around in the 90s or the copyright laws have probably fallen for this.
You are right. I knew it was taken from Melanie, but he made it pretty clear that he had rights to it. I will chat about it with him. Thank you for your input!
I think I recognize the sample, but I want to confirm something first. Did you by any chance take this straight off of an already recorded song that has a copyright on it? (I noticed you placed a copyright symbol on your piece, but if you just sampled the guitar from an already created and recorded tune, that negates your copyright, plus its against the terms of this site).
Or perhaps you legally paid for the sample by contacting the artist's record company and getting permission.
Please understand, it's important to learn about the laws regarding the music industry if you truly want to work in it.
The sample was cleared by the co-producer, Jadon Converse, also known as Beats by Con! I just cleaned it up. I appreciate the heads up though, I have made this mistake a few times before.
