Scrolling the old pages of LM. Found some interesting tracks but this one sticks out. I like the breakbeat sample and minimal sounds within the space. I could hear a 90s rapvibe on this

The mixed timings seem to work and this could easily be sampled/flipped

Interesting stuff

Interesting and I love drums!! Curious...why did you classify this as jazz? Come to think of it, it could probably fit into quite a few categories.

Thank you very much for your comment - I made this to pacify the octopedal airdrummer living inside my head, ( who seems content for the the time being ; he's the one who forced me to say it was jazz - i just think its kinda Brazilian acoustic percussion). Cheers, Enjoy!

This is a really nice track. This genre of music is very under rated. You've made this glitch track into into an elctro-dub track. It has a bit of a dark edge to it, but seems to have something lighter inside of it. Definitely cinematic and sci-fi. You've given me an a deeper appreciation for glitch with this track.

My pet monkey Zorro likes to pump it on his personal ghettoblaster - after he locks himself in the closet and pretends no-one's home. I've peeked in and caught him "dancing".

This is the first track that's made me laugh out loud in the first 5 seconds, since...well, longer than I can remember.

This is brilliant. Conceptually (InstaDance(tm)), it's so 'finger on the pulse', you know? I love the edgy, almost gutteral sounding bass/melody line, and how rhythmically it's pure Dance as it's totally compelling. The vocals and fx circles it and pulls it all right together. Faved and recommended.

ShaubYaella - you've got it Happening.

This is a very sonically comfortable experiment! I like how the drums seem to effect the other sounds in some unexplained way. Very cool flow to the arrangement. Nice work!

The MIDI controllers 1-128 were routed into a Mandelbrot( ie.,fractal) differential algorithm ( which I was toying about with in TieraZon), which assumed control over each track dynamic and the associated track effect levels. The composition was prearranged in the buffers before placement into the DAW by another `quadratic' formula which followed a standard composition formula for the verses and the chorus - AABA; the breaks, hooks and general mayhem were the result of a buffer overflow created by the algorithms jamming up the CPU prior to flushing( LiveCut was used and it does this, too), so I have my doubts as to whether the math was entirely responsible for some of the stuff on this track. P.S. I am dead serious - the implications are huge.( Newton's Laws will be mangled next.:))

Love the interesting percussion, love the sweeping melody and changes to it - its definitely not what I'd call "background music for websurfing" :D :D Think it would work very well as a kind of "cooldown" track if you playlisted it between 2 floor burners! Nice work man, defintely one of the more unique tunes I've heard on here. Keep it up!

I never thought about it being a "cooldown"; good suggestion, thanx; Cheers!

can't say that i could label this anything...bringing in different genres or textures without overcrowding the song or forcing it to fit into one "category" just to fit there.

agree with the person who said it sounded like it belongs in a sci fi movie....definitely. like futuristic blade runner.

What I dig particularly about ShaubYaella is his muli(anti)generic approach to the sonic art. In many ways, this is the counter-current to the literary cyberpunk genre, of which they both respond to the problems and solutions of technology itself. A musical pharmacon where the poison is also the remedy. You could label this one cinematic as well, and would be a sonic asset to nearly any sci-fi movie.

Thanks. ( Either you read too many British music review mags or you need to be my publicist, you loquacious dude.) I write this stuff to watch my pet monkey Zorro groove to the tunage. ~:b Cheers.

Nice thumping grove to this with lots of interesting prcussive elements. I like the vocal and the change in melodic direction around the 3:10 mark - cheers jfw.

Listening to this after our little communique has really flavored my reaction. Strange how access to a back-story effects our interpretations, and I can really see how this came out reading cyberpunk. Especially since the neoHumanist in me sees creativity (genuine as opposed to wannabe) always being the subversive counter-toxin to societal dis-ease. Hi-Lo tech Musick - a kindred spirit to my own Space-Age aesthetic. Did you know you can take down an attack helicopter with a slingshot? This was used by the political opposition during the general strike in Cameroon a decade ago. Low tech usually wins the day. Mon ami, I LOVE this track! (6th play) What you're doing here with sonic movement, with frequency choices, with swelling...you're jacked in. This is brilliant because you've found the Spirit of the Thing. Another ShaubYaella favorite!

I really like the choice of sounds on this one, you've really created a good feeling. I can see why you've called this audio therapy. Very good variety in this track, while still keeping with the basis of the track. Great work!

Thanks. This track was uploaded 20 minutes before your review, small Looperworld that it is. It was composed and rendered in 2005 with stone age tools and left on MySpace for a few months to obtain way too many reviews( all ++). I felt it would be fitting to have it exposed to the homeys on this site, where it will rest awhile on its journey through your brain. Cheers!

This is amazing! Your experiment in algorithm programming applied to tune structures is so groovy, it really makes me wonder about the implications. Could an upcoming genre of music be based entirely on orbital position calculations, or the algorithms behind genetic code? If so, I bet there's some beautiful and surprising melodies waiting to be found. The rhythms behind the melody here are great, and I think the glitch breaks work better than anywhere I've heard before. I do however have a pop/click sound consistently around 3:37, and I wonder if anyone else experiences this? Nasty artifact, but easily fixed. Had to fave this one!

[Feb `11 Edit]
This one still feels so seminal somehow. Like the emergence of sentience from levels of complexity within the digital flux fields. Outstanding and equally provocative.

Yeah, I was so pressed for time that I did not remix and render appropriately.( groveling with apologies). At any rate - I will reload after rewriting and remixing it in a few days. The original version (there are three) had a flaw but had something that I can't describe - could it be "soul" ? This one comes real close. Music for the 21st century? Hmmm...

I really like how the percussion shifts from sounding like analog instruments to electronic ones, and the way you use panning on them. You've got a really good sense of rhythm and an ear for timing those transitions at the right moments. I've got nothing to offer for improvement. I really enjoyed hearing this one! Cheers.

Yep - that's what we wanna hear - comments, critiques, lambasting, uh-huh. Thank you, because I have no idea what genre to specify this piece into. I just know that it's background music for websurfing - the intent when I wrote it. To call it chillout was great, Thank you.

This is SWEET! AnomalyJ's vocals weave so well with the percussion it gives me goosebumps! Nice composition, and equally excellent execution. You did this on Fruityloops? Wow.

Nice to know I got a review about AnomalyJ's vox. Goosebumps? I had my spine twitch when it rendered. I like her stuff. Thank You, though. It's nice to know the efforts are appreciated.
It was composed (structured) in FL8 and rendered in MW5 because Izotope's Ozone4 is a CPU hog for post-processing.
P.S. I can't spell rhythm after all these years.
