Yes, backup singers is a thought that has occurred to me as well. But, I'm still hoping to find different vocalists who can work on the tracks. Seems that most of the ones I do are meant to have vocals. I've got quite a range of styles semi-finished. Am reaching out again to some vocalists including Aiden Walsh who has offered to re-do the vocals on this track. Found a really good Norah Jones-sounding vocalist from Calgary but I think she mostly focuses on her own compositions, all posted on Soundcloud, not here unfortunately. Maybe I'll get lucky. I'm trying to convince vocalists to join Looperman and come here. You get more listens and more support here than on Soundcloud, that's for sure.
Sorry, I didn't mean use a guitar with guitar rig. I meant take the rhodes and put it through Guitar Rig to give it some FX/distortion etc. But you might be better off just using a synth or some other vst instrument.
That's a great idea I did not think to do that plus it means I can keep the midi n change the instrument I also can distort the Rhodes as you suggest I'll get on that today excellent suggestion thanks Robbie.
Love it. It has a strong cinematic Sci Fi Feel, with a nice groove. I didn't like the Wurlitzer/Rhodes sound that came in at 1:22 and toward the end. The notes were ok, but I would use a different texture. It might be as easy as putting it through something like guitar rig or other effects vst and adding some distortion etc.
hey Glenn good to hear from you are right about the rhodes sound i wanted something to contrast the pipes i did not think that a guitar would have worked i'll give that a try at a later date thanks for the input. On a separate note i'm finding vocs a real pain to deal with that blue misty track could hit the circular file. May the force be with you best regards Robbie.
White Wedding is my favorite song of all time. So it's hard for me to be subjective on this. The quality of this track is better than most of the stuff on looperman, but it doesn't reach Billy Idol heights for me. Billy is so bad ass, and to take on his work I commend you for that.
I loved it! Very relaxing but I did not like the first 14 sec, sounded out of place. Also i didn't like the instrument that came in from 3:13-3:43. Other than that brilliant!
Thank you!
Yeah, the intro is a bit something else, but i love it, and find it very useful: you can listen any track on any style right before this, by a few sec it will makes the mood you need for enjoy the track. At least to me it works really effectively after a lot "harder" tracks.

I like it. It seems like one coherent piece to me. It sounds like a song I'd hear on the radio and that's a good thing. It could definitely use some vocals. I'd like to hear more of the guitar that comes in at 1:51, having it come in earlier. Also I would mix it up a bit, adding some sequences with more notes, you have 1234567-12. I'd do 1234567-123 maybe even 1234. Then I'd mix up the pitch of the notes with different flavors of the sequence. You could see if cranking up the intensity with a lil more distortion/fx on some of the guitars makes it better or worse. These are just some thoughts you can play around with and see what you like.
I love it! Funky, trippy, and a little attitude. I'd like to see you kick up the energy somewhere along the way, either intensity or BPM wise to give it even more of an edge.
You think ? Yet i listen to it i feel it sounds home made. Maybe that's a thing that happends to everyone with its own music =p.
Thanks Neuromancer ! and killer nickname by the way ;)
I was stuggling for words a bit. By melodic vs. random I mean this. If you listen to 1:20-1:40 there is a nice groove that gets your head bobbing, and the melody is sweet... it feels very pleasurable to me to listen to almost because I can sense the flow of the melodic wave and I just flow with it... If I listen to a later part I'll pick one at random (4:11-4:30) my head isn't bobbing, and I just can't sense the flow of where the melodic wave is going, in fact it sounds more random and disturbing to me, like I can't get on that wave and ride it. Listen to my track Concrete Meadow and you will get it. The melody is smooooooth and gets your head bobbing. It feels good, just like your stuff at 1:20-1:40. I don't know jack about music theory. I just know what feels good to me. So that's what I mean by smooth melodic vs. more random. There is no fancy meaning to random. Is it that at the beginning you are doing more traditional melodies and later on you are delving into 12 tonal theory? I don't know.
Excellent answer. You're not struggling for words this time.
"1:20-1:40 there is a nice groove that gets your head bobbing, and the melody is sweet"
I understand. It's pleasurable and grabs you without you thinking about it whereas the riffs towards the end don't have the same effect. I actually like them but, yes, it can be really hard to maintainthe same level of enjoyment every time you make a change. Some riffs just aren't as good as others. Or aren't as good in the context of the particular track in which they feature. The end riffs are a bit darker.

Neither do I. I also don't know what 12 tonal theory is.
"Is it that at the beginning you are doing more traditional melodies"
Yeah, probably that. More major, positive and brighter and then things go a bit darker and more mystical.
Thanks very much for clarifying. That is some lucid feedback!
