Missing fade out:
Fade out by reverb (or other FX)? In my experience rendering to audio miscalculate the duration of the FX at the end of a song causing a potential fade out to be missing. I.e. my DAW Reaper doesn't know the length of a FX, there is a configured value in seconds but that isn't precise. You can fix this yourself, by having a empty MIDI or silent audio item at the end of your arrangement that takes up the time of the fade out when you play it back in your DAW. Having that item will include it's time in the render and fix the problem. You moved the "end" of your song to include the already existing fade out :-)
Of course there could be other reasons.
Hi Alex, I like your track, has a dark feeling, love the intro.
The "walking sound" starting at 00:16, is that intended as walking sound? If yes you could consider to record a real sound using your phone (using the right shoes at the right place and correct beat) I did that once before, walking on a gravel path, a 120 bpm beat on my earplugs to keep the pace for the duration I needed, the phone pointed downwards to record the sounds.
If you need assistance with the English pronunciation, try Google Translate (if the browser is allowed to play sound).
Put the English text in the left box and set it to auto-detect or English, then click the speaker icon (listen) at the bottom left of the left box, Google Translate will "speak" the text. This solution is most likely not perfect but better than nothing at all.
Good track, like it.
I see working with vocals like getting new clothes, one can squeeze the vocal into a composition, tailor the composition to the vocal, or one creates a composition that perfectly fits the vocal and elevates the total. Your creation is definitively the latter: "haute couture".
A good example for my future attempts.
Hello Franz, I want to thank you for your kind comments and detailed explanations on the topic of songbuilding, mixing, and mastering. I hope your valuable tips are appreciated by the community and that they will be helpful to many members. Have a wonderful 2025. Best regards, Manuela
Sorry if it was meant that way, but I have to agree with V about the 1:50 - 2:50 part, to me it sounds forced, even the hi-hat starts to sound like an artifact floating in and out.
Hello Franz, thank you for your visit, your time, and your message. I'm glad that you like the song despite the mixing errors. I have explained the reasons for this in my response to 'V's' message. Best regards and all the best for 2025, Manuela.
