WoW Bro I'm speechless, I'll try to give my 2 cents on this one I haven't heard the original but I gotta say I absolutely love your version that kick comes through perfect I dont know how to do that, I love how the bass and kick work together man sounds pro 100% quality right here! Man I have so much respect for knowing that you are or was a Lawyer no wonder you articulate your self so well man mad respect to you and your grind. I'm def a fan now Bro Love your style sounds like something I would hear on the radio!!
Hi, Hughey. Well, the original is a lot better, but I definitely learned a lot trying to replicate what The Six did.
I've got all the tools I need to make a really great track, but it's the skill set that needs a lot more development. That said, I'm not unhappy with the result. It was a LOT of work. Nothing was meshing properly.
I don't know if The Six used some esoteric quantization factor, but I had to fine tune every note of the bass tracks by hand and I had to do it time and time again to get it working right.
And then, when I got the vocal part from Anastasia, nothing seemed to lock in properly so I had to re-do all sorts of individual tracks all over again. I think I made some fundamental errors someplace because it shouldn't have been so difficult to get a decent sounding track.
I almost gave up on it. Let it just sit for a couple of weeks, then went back and dug in. Now I'm working through a tutorial on how to make trance, which is my favourite EDM genre.
There's a lot of discipline required to practice law. And, a lot of discipline required to develop the chops necessary to produce good EDM tracks. And, creativity, of course, in both fields. I was never talented enough to make it as a professional musician, so law was a wise decision. But, I never abandoned my connection with music.
My major regret, at this stage of my life, is having sold my 1965 Gretsch Country Gentleman guitar and my Ampeg amp when I started law school I definitely miss them now. :(
man sounds so good, you are definitely a master of your craft! sounds radio ready to me the mix is on point and those synths sound lush - Perfect bro just perfect!!!!
Hughey! Thank you I'm honored that you took a listen! Such high praise coming from a mix master himself! Really admire your style, so I appreciate your feedback here! Keeps me inspired man! Thanks!
