I am a bassist, unemployed then I have the time to produce some little basslines =)
Bass guitar most of the time. I can also use a midi keyboard but not often =)
Ableton
Saffire Radeon PRO 24 DSP, Mic Sennheiser e602-II, Amp Hartke 500W Neodyne (2x10"), bass compressor MXR (a must have) and somtimes ma new Fuzz EHX to get some noise !
Recently I just discover Tiza Brown. I know the bassist is from Swiss but the singer could be the James Brown's daughter lol
Just watch this voice, I mean this sound but what a voice => https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3fEUVsD5b-0
Melodic Flea Way (RHCP), Big Calm (Morcheeba), Hot Space (Queen). Some exemples but in most of the time I listen the tracks one by one.
Red Hot Chili Peppers at their beginning, Victor Wooten (the bassmaster in my point of view), Rage Against the Machine, some classics like Hendrix, Janis Joplin, The Doors. Modern ones like Massive Attack, also some reggae like Groundation, electronic stuffs like Gramatik, Proleter, Poldoore...
In fact I listen a lot of styles then I try to cover them without recording, just for practice. That's why it's hard for me to describe my own style. But I like to play some groOvy variations and melodies in a part of the track. That's depend from the others musicians by the way.
My life is music !
Death or Glory ! (The Clash for sure)
