I'm a self-taught 'loop artist'. I work with the loops to make something that sounds decent. I usually work in Sony Acid Pro (I've been using it since I was a kid) and just find loops I like and mash them together.
I play a wide variety of instruments. Not all of them well, I do enough to keep myself out of trouble. I play Bagpipes, Guitar, Bass, Keyboard, Pennywhistle (Irish), and occasionally I'll have a rap on the bongos, but I'm keen to learn new things all the time!

I had a Lexicon Lambda, but it's broken and I've lost parts for it, so I am waiting to snap up another cheap one.
Muse. All the time Muse. I also listen to a fair bit of modern pop, but my tastes go back as far as Pink Floyd, The Doors, and groups like that.
I listen to a wide variety of music. I listen to a LOT of EDM, and house. My biggest influence is probably early video game music, it might come out a bit in the tracks I create.
My music (as with my tastes) has quite a wide variety of genres depending on what I start playing with. If I drop a vanilla guitar in there and it sounds nice it could set the tone for the rest of the track, for instance. I don't go in expecting to come out with something that resembles what i was inspired by.
I work in IT. My background in sound engineering gets my boss out of trouble when they have to do things like setting up boardrooms with speaker systems and the like.
