I was born in '64, in the heart of the California hippy movement. My parents, however, were not hippies. They were born in the late '30's, and had lived through the Great War.

I am Irish, German, Norwegian and Welsh. I bring this point out because of DNA. As we carry the genes of our predecessors, I believe we also bring with it the social models, passed from generation to generation. These two quirky old Germans (who were so engaging) asked me to really think hard about the mind, reality and the mystic nature of the life of the self.
