I've been writing songs for 17 years now, performed at shows across the state of Minnesota for a couple years back, and I'm still a nobody. I'm cool with it, I'm over the whole super star rapper dream thingy. I'm glad, because the best reception I ever had, is everytime I get home and hear my kids yelling DAD!
Happy to share my acapellas with the looperman community and receive back the great sounds you people create from all over the world. It's very inspiring.
I have met so many amazing musical artists through this platform who inspire the songs I am writing so I suppose I could categorize that into the "About Me" section.
Mainly I express/manipulate words and read them into a microphone emphasizing syllables in rhythmic patterns, Kazoo, using the computer to sample and chop up sounds from wherever and rearrange them along side loops sometimes, awesome at a drum machine app
Mainly Acid
Huge Ass Yamaha Keyboard, shitty home studio
Father John Misty, Mason Jennings, Atmosphere, Brother Ali, Sage Francis, Dessa/Doomtree, Awful Paul, Danny Brown, Big Zach, Useful Jenkins, 90's shit, anything I can find on cassette tape at the 2nd hand store to play in my car and van, and tons of local and random independent rappers
Just found a bunch of old classic George Carlin tapes, they are pretty fucking amazing, I would rank them up here.
The Great Milenko from Insane Clown Posse was the album that really got me into music. I still stand by it as one of the best front to back rap albums of our generation.
I liked the new Mason Jennings album front to back and quite a bit of the new Father John Misty album, but other than those haven't really listened to an album front to back and enjoyed it all in a while.
I think Atmosphere delivers.
Also I really like and can relate with all my own material, so I listen to that alot.
Tons of local Minnesota rap.
friends, family, & the world we live in, looperman fam all around the world.
Small Town Life, Comedy, Rap, a reflection of the world around us - as fucked up as it can get, Doomed Inspiration
