I wouldn't call myself a musician, but I got into arranging samples to create music for the intros & outros on my podcast, What's Your Damage? (wydpod.com). I enjoy finding one sound that creates the mood I'm looking for, then building a track around it.
I do my musical arrangement and podcast editing using Adobe Audition.

Since I work exclusively with samples I end up going pretty heavy on the retro synth sounds. Been trying to experiment more with acoustic instrumentation without letting it get completely repetitive.
