I've been recording, mixing, mastering music for 20 plus yrs. I'm self taught, so those 15 yrs have been a wonderful yet horrible struggle, but i'm still here due to the fact I love it!!

I dont play instruments or even make beats, I'm interesed though!
Software I Use
I don't believe a daw is a producer, I believe a good producer makes the daw.Believe it or not, I started using Audacity when I begin using DAW's. Mixcraft is a very powerful yet afforable daw i use too. having a good concept on frequency, compression, reverb, attack and release is better than any overpriced daw!
Hardware I Use
I'm old school, I started with mixing board hardware, then I slowly moved over to daws. I record with Rode mics and monitor with KRK's
