I make music, I perform and record here in Northern California, USA. I am also a graphic designer, have been since I was in college, helped buy books back in the day :-)
I sing, write, produce, arrange and I play several instruments, I'm best at the saxophone family, but I have a keyboard that I use to produce with, just can't play well enough to perform live as a keyboard player :-)
Alto saxophone
Tenor saxophone
vocalist
keys
cajon
clarinet
oboe
ethnic wind instruments (I have a bunch!)
I can play a tiny bit of guitar :-)
Cubase 5.1
Reason 4
Recording Interface: Yamaha USB Audio Gram 6
Mic: Sterling Audio ST-51 (great for both vocal and my horns!!)
Keyboard: M-Audio Keyrig 49
Windows 7 Quad Core box.
Mayer Hawthorne "No Strings"
Sade "Babyfather"
Lenny Kravitz "Mama Said"
Can I recommend one of my own tracks: Ava Lemert "Flow On" http://itunes.apple.com/us/album/12welve/id496262094#
Beatles "White Album"
Ike and Tina "Nuff Said" (out of print, 1971)
This is too hard for me to finish!!
Beatles, Lenny Kravitz, George Michael, Alicia Keys, Tina Turner, Teena Marie, Mayer Hawthorne, Raphael Saadiq, Soulive, Sade, Chris Issak, Raul Malo, Esquivel, Earl Bostic, David Bowie, David Sanborn, Gato Barbieri, Maceo Parker, King Curtis, Etta James, Lisa Stansfield, Depeche Mode, Stan Getz, Bootsy Collins, George Clinton, Beach Boys, Wes Montgomery, Los Straitjackets, wholy moly this is going to be a long list...
Soul.
I'm a few artists rolled into one, think Teena Marie that plays a saxophone but funky chick like that (RIP Lady T)
Anyway, what musician doesn't think they sound unique so I won't even go there, but I really have an honest hard time drawing a parallel because I am both a vocalist and instrumentalist
visual artist, graphic designer, I've done print ads in the past at Saatchi&Saatchi;, worked on Toyota, Cadillac, Cellular One, Johnson & Johnson, worked at Hughes designing the first commercial in-flight entertainment systems (I designed the graphics for the screens on the original Nintendo platform!!) Wow, that was 1995
