Most of my stuff is kind of rough around the edges and that is the point. I used to be afraid to play my music to other people. I put the level to high and never finished anything. To get over this I try to write a lot of tunes and put them out to the public, even the silly ones (usually it is the silly ones I secretly love though). And it works, what I do now sucks a little bit less then what I did a few months ago.
I really appreciate your comments, and it is the criticism that is good. You don't really learn anything from shoulder patting.
That is also why I try to make a lot of songs, to make more mistakes. More mistakes means lessons learned and progress. So I don't get sad from criticism, that's what I am after. If I bang my head hard and often enough against making songs I might learn something. So don't worry.
So lets keep up the tempo and create art.
I hammer away at my keyboard. But i have no formal education in music or any instrument. Won't stop me though.
Ableton Live and loads of VSTs.
I have an two octave midi keyboard that I use.
When I was a kid I listened to Skinny Puppy and Front 242 and such music. Later I found other genres and my music taste grew, but everything I do seems very influenced by that period in my life. I was after all young and in love.
A friend described it as chill out industrial. I have no idea what that means.
