Description : Hmmmmm thought long and hard about uploading this one, again one of my early mixes using Magix. I wanted this just to be a simple and fun easy listening track! I hope you enjoy the different style and hopefully fellow looperpeople will feel the same. As always all constructive comments good or bad welcomed (though with this one I expect there will be more bad than good). Pop is probably the wrong genre too, but it is the nearest I could find!

Totally didn't expect this from an "ageing wannabe musician (who cant play an instrument!!". :-) I so love this. It makes me wanna dance...with Austin Powers! All the instruments fit in their own space. This was so much fun. :-)
And we're niceley in with the piano lick. It's got a tropical vibe to it. Nice sunny and uplifting. That brass sounds really authentic. Is that a synth or do you play it your self with instruments? I have to say i'm very impressed with this. It's a splendid arrangement and everything about it shines.
Great piece.

Reviewed a couple of tracks for you so far (will review more are hearing your works) very impressive piece, excellent clarity and arrangement, listening to me this could fit under the Jazz genre, has a very jazzy sound and feel about, lots going on in the piece, but everything has its own space, which is a very good achievement...love this one...As said earlier will be back for more...Thanks for sharing this very good listen...Peace n Respect Mosaic...
Really pleased that you are taking time and trouble to listen and review my tracks, and glad that you are liking them in general. A real big thank you.
A good listen for my ears. A smooth journey. I can picture an old classic movie having this as it's soundtrack. It's so nice to come across a unique sound such as this on looperman. Thank you for the share.
Professional sounding: clean and well arranged.
I really like the final part with the funky guitar. Cool!
Very hard to find a genre, since this song is really a time trip: you bounce forth and back between the 70s the 60s and the 50s ... but that makes it all very interesting!
As MrNomad alreay stated: unbelievable how much you have going in 3 minutes! Very good.
Ciao, Domenico
Thanks for the listen and your comments sum up what I was trying to re-create. I do try to cram as much as I can into my work...most of the time it doesn't work, but I think it did on this one. Your time and comments are much appreciated.
If simple, fun and easy-listening was what you were going for, you definitely succeeded. It's a very pleasant track to listen to and flows very well together. The fact that it was one of your early mixes makes it even more impressive, because I think this is just great.
Hey that's great to hear and thank you for the listen and comment. Really glad that you appreciated the fun element that I wanted, and thank you for liking.
It is a concept tinged with great sincerity... You have designed here, with your passion and your heart... going beyond your "frustration" of not being able to play an instrument (this is the case of many people here, but you have the honesty, of have written)... "
You have skilfully used what that was at your disposal to create this pleasant track to listen, and I thank you for sharing this moment.
lovely to hear from you again, and thank you for such nice comments. I have so many ideas in my head and compose from my heart, but not playing an instrument does hinder me ( time I learnt!!) so I try to create the best I can with the loops, samples and small bits that I can create. So pleased to enjoyed this.
an interesting arrangemenT & nice composition . I was waiting to hear U sing as usual buT the same instrumental version too was pleasurable . also regarding genre i can underestand U. I've had such error & trials with latin instruments(not such good I mean ,in fact such arranegement& instrumental texture )& yes this is a question mark for me too that what genre are true categorY for such textures ?
any way & beyond everything , this was a cool track .best wishes.___Behnam
Great to hear from you and thanks for your kind comments, and I do find it difficult to link this style together, hopefully it worked on this one. I really appreciate your time and what you have to say.
This makes me think instantly...Samba! It's very authentic, even though it's obviously digital! I love the real sounds you've used! Good chord style! Fun song to hear! Definitely a little bit of the doors here! Fun stuff! Faved for sure! Thanks for the DL!
You are too kind! but very much appreciated, and as always your comments mean a lot to me so a very big thank you.
Ok will play it this Saturday!! Thanks again!!
Do I hear Ray Manzarek knocking at the door(s)?^^....and soon after that groovy latino-like rhythm kicks in - do i hear Ian Anderson from 1968 (flute sound and style similar to "Serenade To A Cookoo" from "This Was" album)?...:)^^
Mark, you're like a top class professional cook who knows exactly how to combine ingredients to make a delicious meal:)
It's realy beyond me how you can even think that this will get bad reviews...or how hard your decision was to upload this here on LM !?...but maybe on the other hand this just shows how high your standards are, which I admire alot!:)
The most important thing afteral is that you gifted us with another hit composition...may there be many more!:)
So great to hear from you, and yes you have picked up on the connections so well! A real big thanks for your comments and compliments which I always appreciate so much. Thanks to your support I have been more confident in uploading my earlier stuff, even though I wasn't totally sure myself, again your support and honest opinion is valued and so much appreciated. So pleased you like this one.
OK, you didn't quite answer my question about Magix. I'll look it up elsewhere myself though I think I'm guessing right though I wonder whether these loops are all classified by style or key or whatever.
Anyway, yes you are good at assembling these things as I don't often hear much to criticise or pops or clicks or melodic clashes or any other typical problems. Though I do wonder if it's partly because the source material is all well recorded and sort of doesn't need much processing.
Shame you can't play an instrument. I'm not much of a keyboard player (though I do play and record it a bit) but I do a lot of synth programming in my stuff, with good results. I've done whole, long, complex pure electro tracks on which I don't play a note - it's all synth programming (eg https://www.looperman.com/tracks/detail/147824).
Back to your track - it really is great fun, with so much energy and vibe.
0:27 I think that bass underneath the lead sound should be raised in volume. Or lead turned down. This a minor point!
It's an awful lot that you pack into less than 3 mins!
Someone said soundtrack music. I'd say maybe this could be the theme tune to some TV show. Would suit all sorts, I'm sure.
Oh...I was very briefly waiting for Riders On The Storm at that little intro line (also used elsewhere)...but I got this neat bouncing along tune & my feet were tapping (I`m not telling if my head was bobbing...thats a hippie thing..haha)...Like the sax...nice drop/transition at 1:50...& thereafter a picked up jazz vibe...geez Mark...I`m liking it even more as it goes along...builds really nicely...love this uplifting kind of stuff...great job....Ed
Yes I love that little riders sample! would have loved a bit of EC guitar on there..who knows one for the future maybe!!!!got a lovely picture of you tapping and bobbing! Really glad you like it Ed and as always much appreciate your time and comments. off to do a bit of bobbing myself!!!
You got a winner here, Larry. It's my style with all the horns. I will download it and put it on my BAMM (big ass music machine!) to enjoy forever. Good Job.
Nice, sounds so groovy. Like how that harp plays in the intro (if it is a harp) and the piano sounds fun ;)
Nicely done larry ;)
thanks for sharing this with us
Then some instant coolness of busy bongos, guitar, shaker etc. A lot coming at me all at once!
Glockenspiel?
Flute?
There's a lot happening in first 35 seconds.
Then some brass coolness and a funky, classic beat.
0:54 long chords that sound a bit like a harmonium or organ.
Flute 1:10 is a part I like. Guitar just before that has a lovely swing to it.
Just to clarify: are these all loops that are sitting in the Magix software? You've never really explained what you're really doing with your tracks and I've asked a few times. Is there a big pool of all these parts and you just drag them to the timeline? That's just my guess.
Your tracks remind me a little of mine in that they're very busy and a lot of sounds and instruments hit you in rapid succession.
I guess this sort of is pop as it has quite a light sound but is very musical. Quite a 60s sound, especially with the groove and that flute.
Overall, it's good fun and I can't really fault the production. All sounds very clean though I have to assume all the original parts are very cleanly recorded so maybe there's not so much work to do there. You tell me...
Sorry I never mean to dodge your questions and always look forward to your detailed and constructive comments. First and foremost I am a composer, arranger and producer of music who sadly is not talented enough to play an instrument well enough to allow it to be heard. However I have a talent for putting things together and altering sounds to suit tracks, inserting vocals where it is not the norm. The tracks are put together from loops and samples, but I massage, adjust the sound and lovingly put them into a sequence that I hope is enjoyable...it does not always work! but I can assure that a lot of work, effort and emotion goes into what I produce. Once again thanks for listening and I really do value your comments.
Best wishes,
Mark/Larry!

Description : This one has been sitting on my computer for a bit now but didn't really like it. My friends say it can use some vocals and I think that is what this one needs.
