Description : If this isn't funk, than grits ain't groceries! If you're old enough, you may remember the Temptations. This track is my inspiration of this wonderful group's music with such songs a 'Psychedelic Shack' and 'Cloud Nine.' Unfortunately, this music is lost on today's artists, which is a shame, cause it was sooooo good! This track is not a recreation of the Temptations, but my inspiration of their style with my style thrown in. Hope you like it.

Never saw the Temptations live, but I did see the Four Tops! Great groups. Fantastic music. This is really nice echo of that era.
Yes, a lot of current music isn't all that inspiring, but there still are some really good musicians out there making the real stuff. Just watched the video of the Tedeschi Trucks Band tribute to Joe Cocker, on Youtube. Leon Russell and other alumni from the Mad Dogs and Englishmen Tour.
Susan Tedeschi is a remarkable singer and her husband, Derek Trucks is, well, an inspired musician. And, from what I've seen of him in interviews, not full of himself. Dedicated to making good music. There's good music out there still, but a bit harder to find I think.
this is some really enjoyable tune, not really a proper 'song' that much for me but just a nice combination of different short instrumental solo sections and that is perfectly fine!
I find the bass line and the keys really inspiring. to me funk styles will always sound modern - they are a true source for a great amount of contemporary music.
I will check out the bands you mentioned, thanks for some nice inspiration.
Wow really nice track. Brings back good memories, and when you said Unfortunately, this music is lost on today's artists. I am a little lost in this since I do not hear music in today's artists.
I think Soundhound and I am on the same page also.
Glad you like it and took time to comment. I agree...I seem to dwell in the past, musically, since I just can't find anything in today's music worth listening to.
Hope things are going well. We have corresponded in awhile.
You are right Scott...
This style has gone by the wayside, like Classical... :) the bone yard
is full of good music, that this generation will never understand...
They have dumb down the music playing tools, so the don't have
to think...Just Drag and Drop...They don't need to play anything
anymore, there is really no work involved " No Talent Needed " to
become a Star or so they think...
Back in the day, if you couldn't play it there was no instrument
that would say it for you...
If we had these tools back then, and did things the way we did
Man...The whole game would have been different, it cost me a
small fortune to do the tracks I did back then...
You've done Motown some Justice with this track...
Nice 1...My Man...
Thanks allot, TG. Your comment of doing justice to Motown means allot! You're right, the kids today just don't get it. Unless you go to an oldies show or listen to an oldies station, you can't hear it. I knew there was something strange when a guy scratching records on stage was considered a musician. In the early days, scratching records was considered noise. Now it's considered music and a turntable is considered an instrument! Oh well.
Oh yes...it is funk...and not just that, it's a sensational
one! Due to lack of time I won't go into details but this is as inspiring and powerful as it gets! Faved for sure!
But you are playing this music Scott, fortunatelly (o.k. you are not tody's guy...:-)
Sensational groovy based music with your innovative drum...tha bass is more than good...that part from 3.03: the drum, bass duel is outstanding...
Yes, I create what I love, so even though I reach back to the past for inspiration, I always hope other fine musicians, like yourself, can still appreciate it. Try as I might, I just can't find inspiration in today's music, unless it's jazz.
Always a pleasure to hear from you, my friend.
Cheers,
Scott

Description : Continuing my journey with sampling. This was mostly an accident, and not where I originally thought it would go but I'm happy with the destination. I started with the track Real Reel Switcher by Eunice Russ Frost, which has a slower melancholy swing to it, however I've been playing a bunch of older video games lately, with SSX being in the mix heavily, so this track ended up taking on a bit of that for inspiration as well. Would love your thoughts.

Description : A Dark Funk tune , with a touch of Nawlin's jazz funeral procession. Midi-sparks asked me to do a Halloween song for his competition, and so here it is!
Description : 3rd track of my future vocaloid album, Acerbus 2.Many thanks to Venuslove for the vocals, MrFunktastic for the Funk bass, Strings (left and right), and the robotic sound mainly at the beginning of the song. and Atlasblue for the Snares (sorry atlasblue that I couldn't include you in the title, only 50 characters allowed, thus I ran out of space)
Description : Updated 12/2/2022. This is an interesting redo of a funky and fun composition. I gave it more polish by switching to a different drum kit, swapped the flute solo for a synth, then infused more flavor into the guitars, bass and organ. Then lastly tweaking the final master. Can you tell the difference? Let me know. Enjoy.
Description : This is the first production for STAR TRAVELS in collaboration between MICKY (LM) and JYNXZ (LM).
Micky: concept / arrangement / guitars / synths / fx / vocals / mix / mastering
Jynxz: synths / bass / rhodes / clavinet
Description : Everything is recorded live, so you probably hear that. It's also all me :$
Thanks to everyone who contributed in explaining what I did wrong in the engineering, mixing and mastering, especially Ben (bringerofDOOM). Looperman is truly an awesome community and thank you all. Did I say you guys are awesome?
