A very good collab - I felt a touch of Floyd, a touch of Nirvana but loads of magic. I wonder if there is such a genre as grunge chillout, cos that's where I would put it. Love it when people come out a box and do something v unique, which is what you have done here. Kay0s
HI KayOs, I was pleased with this one too. Though I chickened out of singing on it myself. I sometimes wish I had, but then the vocal sample Ian provided fit so perfectly I never did. I'm happy you're checking out some of my other work. It's a good sign I think, when I see people doing that! 'Closer' is another of my favourites of mine, but don't feel you have to check it out or comment! . Cheers Chris.
grabbing smoke is what we do. zootman giving some smoking vibes right here. I will save this for the next one. very progressive grunge era vibes. back when I had long hair and sweaters, nostalgia. keep it coming man. props for the fresh upload on here
Om, Chris. There's something Indian, raga-like about it somehow. Smoke. hmm Can I draw? Incredibly beautifully produced in this idiosyncratic tempo and the economical instrumentation. Few can do that. Time for me to smoke... Groovy
Hi man, yep box of birds down here...glad you enjoyed it, thanks for listening. I haven't been about much on the loop lately, been busy with everything else, you know how it is, but I really need to get in there and do some listening. Have a good one.
I know I favorited this song earlier... I just didn't remember if I commented on it or not, so now I will lol
Both you and Pseudoble created an incredible piece.
You know if feels like an interlude session of a live concert where you had this incredible song before hand, and then as the song winds down, you work your way into this one, and it just becomes this trippy space indie subsection that you can see the crowd just swaying back and forth feeling this music, and as you finish this up, you go into the next song.
I was born in '82, and this reminds me of growing up in the 90s.
This is not an exaggeration:
This is the best indie grundge song I have heard on looperman.
Well that's an amazing comment, thank you very much. The main guitar part is pretty rudimentary but I figured it did all it needed to...in fact, I'm pretty sure I stayed on one fret and didn't have to move more than a couple of fingers to play it lol. I listened to your dnb track asking for vocals by the way. Very cool track, if I was a better singer I'd have a crack at it. Thanks again, Chris.
dont know why im so late on this mate, excellent guitars Chris real grungy, that vocal is such a good fit too, really good job mate indie rock with such a chilled vibe too, sound and production are top notch mate great job.
Hi there, thanks man. I generally listen to your tracks on this site, but don't comment very often, mainly because often they are in genres I don't listen to much as a rule, or know much about. But I respect and hear the quality of what you do regardless. Anyway, that said, thanks a lot for the listen and comment, always appreciated.
Verry nice, Zoot. The kind of track I listen to when I'm chillin hard. It is exactly what you said it is. Great mix and recording. Sweet guitar sound. Thumbs plus all the other fingers up. PEACE. T576 OUT.
A collab between 2 of my favs on looperman? Count me in. This has an almost grungy feel to it, something i dont hear in music often these days. Exeptional song.
Hey there, thanks man. Yes I love pseodobles work too. It always surprises me that he doesn't get more kudos. I think he should. Thanks for listening and commenting bro.
What an incredible piece of music here ... maaaan, this is more than awesome ... that psychedelic flight is dreamy ... vocal is bloody brilliant as the humble music ... really one of the best track in Looperman's history ... all my hats off ...
Danke
Greetings Danke, muchos gracias for your amazing comment. I was genuinely 50/50 on whether this one was good, bad or indifferent. I hoped it was good obviously, but it is so good to get some affirmation from yourself who I have great respect for as a musician and human being. There were two main inspirations. One was your use of alternate tunings (this is in double drop D) - in all the years I've been playing guitar I'd never tried this. The other inspiration for the guitar at least, was Nick Caves track Higgs Boson Blues. I loved the minimal but evolving guitar that underpins that track.
Hi Chris, that's not what I meant. I really like "old stuff"! There's enough "modern stuff" here. But "old stuff", especially when it's done as well as you do, that's rare. You don't become an "old" man because you produce fundamental music, but you show that you are a very good musician. Let's go back a few years. Where did so-called modern music come from? No! I think what you are doing is very good. Stay the way you are and don't bend! Greetings Manuela
No worries Manuela, thanks for writing again and thanks for the clarification. But I've said this to somone else on this site, you can say anything you like about anything I put up here (as long as it's constructive!). I am really not easily offended. And yes you're right, there isn't really anything new in music, its all evolution and recycling as far as I can see....all the best Chris
Ha ha yes, I'm starting to realise that sometimes being high doesn't work cause everything sounds wicked. Can be good inspiration though sometimes. Cheers man.
Hello, a nice piece of old psychedelic rock history. I like it. As I listened, I felt like I was slipping away. You feel transported back to a time that I unfortunately only know from stories my parents told me and from my music studies, the late 70s to early 90s, when pop and rock culture lived on improvisations. Well done. Greetings Manuela
Hi Manuela, late reply sorry. You know, I can't seem to make anything that sounds modern to save myself! I'm older, but I don't live in the past as such, I mean I listen to contemporary and alternative music as well as old stuff. But everything I do just seems to sound old fashioned somehow. Oh well, I'll keep trying. Maybe I'll make a pop song one day...
Hi Jonathan, thanks for listening. Probably the vibe I was after! It's definitely not perfect, I think the vox are off here and there, probably the guitar too. Maybe I'll do some more on it. Cheers Chris.
Hey mate - wondering when you were going to post this one - sounds great, you fitted that vox in really well but the guitars are the star of this one - sound amazing, very cool track
Cheers man, thanks heaps for the sample. The main guitar gave me heaps of trouble, it's hard to play so slow, for me at least, plus I edited the drum loop into some sort of weird six beat time signature...
Hey Chris, like the others, reminds me of the doors, I really like the atmosphere you create with this track, a success!!!
good stuff my friend !
Michael
I didn't get 3 sec into the track
before I had to go to the comments.
More in 2:38 sec.
Just like Wayne, I hear some Doors, but
that out front Guitar and occidental FX
is all you. Beautiful beautiful track. I
wasn't looking at the waveform while I was
listening. I had really hoped what was sounding
like the end of the track wasn't the end of the track
but.......
Great track. Faved.. te rangimarie from the topside...
Tumeke Mr Jynxz and peace to you too! Love your comment. I really wanted to sing on this but could find neither time nor inspiration. But I reckon Pseudoble came up with the goods to help me out, as he often does. Och aye.
I like this, reminds me of the trippy feeling the Doors would achieve in some of their songs. It has a "smokey" mix meaning it has a haziness, blurry almost feel to it, trippy. Looking for the pipe now, lol!
Great mix, not over compressed, lots of space, just right!
Description : Hey guys! Something different this time. I pulled from my teenage angst for this. As well as listening to a lot of indie artists, Ryan caraveo being my favorite. Let me know what you guys think! I know this one isn't going to be too popular but hope you guys like it! I feel like it might be a little bass heavy but tell me what you guys think!
Description : To me this sounds like a late night jam when everyone in the band but the drummer is half toasted and things could fall apart any second. Funnily enough that's pretty much what it is only I'm the band. One take on guitars vocals and bass, minimal edits. Could be a complete mess could be not. Either way happy if you let me know.
Description : This track is a collaboration with another Looperman member, Salve Clements, a very talented vocalist from Australia. Salve wrote the lyrics and composed and recorded the vocal melody and lyrics.
In working on the mix, I simply wasn’t able to achieve a proper balance in the overall sound. So, I got some help from Wytse Gerichhausen of White Sea Studio in the Netherlands. He was able to fix the problems I had created and got it sounding the way I had hoped it would.
Description : sticking with Cyberflares, hope this is a surprise Robin, as an artist i believe certain tracks are made for you and this is one off them
his track Smacking Hard he posted as rap,
bro this was so more powerful than rap, this smacks hard :))
Description : You need some emotions? Then you are just right here! I am not sure what kind of feelings you will get but i am sure you will get some intense ones. -- Older track that some how got lost in the looperversum. But here it is again --
Description : In 2017 my little cousin took his own life. My entire family blamed themselves for it. Never questioning what he was going through or what he may have been feeling. For a long time, I wanted to create a song where I put myself in the shoes of someone hurting. This song has a long way to go before it's finished. I wanted to share what I have thus far in hopes it inspires me to finish it.
Description : Now out as part of an EP on Spotify, iTunes and all the other ones. Thanks for all your encouragement, it means the world to me!
==========================
This particular poem consists of two 1000 year old Japanese "renga", short "word flowers" about the autumn rains. They inspired me... and I hope you will like them too.
Description : found a couple loops by bradosanz and made an indie rock track. let me know what you think in the comments, especially ways i could improve it or if you like it. thanks!
Description : I tried an indie rock / songwriter etc. track, trying new genres.
Haven't posted in a while but just wanted to hear feedback here!
It's also out of Spotify and YouTube and Apple Music and Soundcloud for anyone who wants to listen.
Description : Made this a few months back but just added some vocals - well a few different ones : )
Like the sound but as track it still lacks a bit of structure
Feedback welcome
Description : This is a collaboration with Looperman user called Gelomelo. I used his acapella and did my thing.
I'm in for collaboration. You write the words and sing // i do the beat ! and we figured out together Contact me
Nice droning guitar, vocals, and general mix.
Faved
I realy like that soft vocal in it.
The beat is beautiful and it gives me some peaceful feeling.
