Description : Now also on Spotify, Apple and Bandcamp! Link in bio, as the cool kids say - yes yes, I know you can listen here, and you should, but if you could give me a play on the streamings that would also be massively appreciated.
============================
This is not my story, but someone very dear to me... the lyrics are pretty close to what they said. What they said and the pain they felt touched me and I hope you can hear that in the song.

You sir got music. You've got that raw vintage sound that does not expire. If I become wealthy before getting married I'll have to fly you over to perform live at my wedding...but don't say "Never want to see you again" coz I don't wanna get divorced before the wedding is over haha.
Anyways...great music sir
Wow bro!
How I missed this song??? Hell!!!
What a vocal on this ... kudos really ...
the whole one is beautifully clear, if you know what I mean ...
like the piano, bass duel at the beginning and the smooth guitar chops throughout ...
I can say it is one of your best ...
congrats and hats off,
fistbump,
Danke
Hello, sorry, but I just got around to listening to the song with the new piano. I also have the impression that the song now sounds much fuller thanks to the use of the piano. With wine one would say "full-bodied" *smile. It was a good idea from you!
Greetings Manuela
Hey BaoBou, Wow! This is a really nice track, love the arrangement and musicianship. Your vocals and the storytelling is really engaging. I enjoyed this track very much, great job!
BaoBou. The opening hit me with solemn and reflective contemplation. The piano chords and phrasing told as much of the story as you did with the vocals. Really a nice arrangement. Heartfelt and honest. A respectful work my friend. I will definitely check you out on ITunes. Peace.
That's awesome Mark! Here's a page with some links to streaming platforms (it's actually available on 25 but these are some of the more common): https://baobousmusic.hearnow.com/step-by-step
Thanks a lot for the listen and the gentle feedback. The next one will be more funky again ;)
Lovely track despite some of the sadder lyrics! The vocals are cool, I like the tone and timbre of his voice. The git lead was cool, nice tone! Totally enjoyed this!
Thanks Wayne! To clarify, the vocals are mine, as is the rest - it's just not based on something that happened to me.
The guitar tone is nice, yes - this is a temp setup but I actually like how it turned out.
Dit is inderdaad een heel mooi nummer.
De tekst raakt zeker wel en ik denk dat velen hem voelen want bijna iedereen heeft wel iets meegemaakt op dat gebied.
Muziek is ook heel mooi.
Heel goed gedaan baobou!!
Going to sound a little weird wasn't to me at the moment but I was just in my thoughts and I accidentally hit play as I was scrolling not knowing who or what song this was and I was like this is so relaxing I was trying to find a word that I press play and I see oh okay no wonder excellent work my friend keep forgetting about you and your voice I really like this so relaxing
Thanks so much buddy, I guess that's sort of the best way, if you don't know what you're listening to and suddenly you sit up and think "hey, I like this!"
Thanks buddy!!
This is a very wholesome & heartfelt track. The lyrics & music fit hand in glove, nice arrangement of the song also.
I like that near the ending you took your vocal tone up a notch which simply added to the intensity of emotion felt throughout the song. All in All nice work on this indeed! & I agree we can be touched by something not necessarily that we ourselves are going through but empathy allows us to identify or understand what others are going through. Life is the greatest teacher & everyone has a story to be written about. Kudos!
Thank you so much Angelus, that means a lot to me! The words are straight from the heart, and I hope that comes across - I get emotional listening to the song myself :D
Man your lyrics are so "no nonesense" and to the point.
I generally don't listen to lyrics just to the Vocal melodic
contributions to a track but, the lyrics on this track captured me. I wondered at first if you were going to fly solo with your Piano and Bass. You rounded the track out with the Guitar,Drums and more Vocal accent/accompaniments. It turned out soulfully beautiful .
Yeah I played around a bit with the instrumentation and BPM. I first recorded a version that was a bit faster with more guitar, then went to the piano to practice playing it live (solo) and decided it needed a slower build-up... and as I recorded that I felt it needed power chords again ;)
I'm happy with the way it sounds now although I'm going to redo some of the vocals.
Thanks so much for listening my friend!!
Thank you man! I spent a lot of time fussing over the album and some stuff in my personal life (no worries, mostly housing stuff)... and I feel now my creativity is coming back. I have some more new tracks I'm working on so there should be more soon!
nice work Bou, lovely vocal and a great delivery too bro, love the guitar and keys, its great to have you back sharing, i do check in on your YouTube though :))
But I'm relieved *smile
But you are right. Who hasn't been in a situation like this at least once in their life? It affects a lot of people. And sometimes it takes forever for the associated sellic pain to subside.
Yes I think so, and I like keeping the lyrics on that level where we all recognise something, even if it's not exactly your story.
Btw just overdubbed the midi piano with a real piano. I think it gives a slightly more real feeling and a bit of depth.
Hello Bao Bou, nice to see and hear you here with this beautiful ballad. You've worked a lot on your vocal qualities it seems to me. Good! Really great song with a good vocal expression. I hope the title doesn't refer to me *smile.
Hahaha no I'd always want to see you, and the fact is, I'm really bad at cutting ties with the people that may have hurt me. But I felt this was a story and an emotion that people might recognise and that was worth writing down and playing.

Description : Again, another early production from like two years ago. I had a cheap little Yamaha acoustic guitar that I borrowed and mic'd and some congas that were given to me as a birthday present. I used my iPad GarageBand app to record the strings and the big bass drum thingy at the interlude and little electric guitar parts in there too haha. All the vocals were done by myself and my brother throws in some little things here and there with his voice :P Enjoy!
Description : A rhythm guitar track I made and sent to my cousin on the East Coast. Made with Tape-A-Talk app. from the Google Play Store. Download and collaborate with it.
