Hey, really great elements in the track!
sounds harmonic, expected a bit more punch in the kick and a more dancy vibe, send me the guitar front and in the background and im creating something with this if u want to :)
all in all Great work - listened to a couple of tracks of yours
keep it up! :)
I did watch some of Blake's vids. Quite an earful, production was varied and different on each of the tracks I listened to. I can see why you find his music interesting, at least.
I once wrote a song called Black Clouds Complaining. It was about storm clouds being described as having human traits and comparing the thunder and such like people complaining. I made the musical arrangement on the drums not normal meaning I had 2 chorus's in a row, the change 2 or 3 times n a row... as an exercise to make a sensible song out of the weird drum arrangement. Song came out good, my production and mixing were shite at the time.
"Look outside, it's raining, the black clouds, complaining"
Nice song, I love the chord structures. As I love Bowie and Ferry even more, this reminds me of a Japan tune https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wEdX0veLihM
I agree with Manuela, the synths get pushed back too far.
I would love to hear how this one evolves. I just ordered a cheap Stratocaster knockoff from Japan to get my guitar chops back in line. Will go from there.
Steven
That's a great shout. Japan was a good band (might still be).
Thanks for the tip Steven!! I'll follow up... maybe this weekend if I can get my 2 other tracks and several side projects up and running :D
love that intro Bou, great track well written great vocal too you sound like your enjoying yourself lots here, great 80's vibe James Blake eh, great artist but this reminds me of roxy music, heaven seventeen bowie that era its sounds so authentic mate like others have said drums guitar synth and the vocal tone and range a fantastic era of music to right i was bopping my head and shufflin my feet great job
So will you reveal the artist you are trying to emulate? To me I hear some Bowie in it but there is too many electronic tidbits. Bryan Ferry will be my guess then.
Big reverb on the vox. All the instruments sound fine, well placed, well mixed. I like songs that reference clouds in their lyrics, so many ways to express feelings, emotions, actions with cloud descriptions.
We have so limited genre options as real music makers here, there's not enough genres crossed with rock. But dance?!?! lol just kidding!
The artist is James Blake. I had never heard of the man but he's absolutely amazing and has a wide variety of music. Bowie and Ferry are great comparisons I think.
I'm also sure that everyone who knows James Blake will now go "what? no, this is nothing like him" and that's fair enough, but if you don't know him, give him a listen.
I like that you liked the clouds. They sort of were an afterthought to the lyrics and then they somehow became the theme, which... sometimes that's how it goes, you know :)
Hahaha ok ok it's not dance. So what is it?
Thank you! I'm saving the other comment to reply later; I love the very clear points you referenced so I will really go I to them.
I've tried to get a bit different sound and indeed I removed the keys on purpose... so I'll take a good hard look what I can do!
Really really appreciated Manuela, those are the best comments!
Hello BaoBao, I missed you already*smile.
CC is absolutely right! A song that makes you nod to the beat is a good song. It's a good song in the tones of the 80s, as CC also mentioned. Above all, it's drums, bass and guitars that create this wonderful sound.
However, I do have a small, perhaps individual, taste criticism. And this affects the mix. While the master is frequency-balanced, I think that you have relegated the keys (synth) in the first area too much to the background in the mix until around 2:08. The transition at 2:08 is outstanding though! Then the keys (synth) are pushed back too much with the short guitar solo. From 3:12 onwards, with the entry of the left guitar, (?) you have set a nice musically dramatic accent, but it completely silences the keys (synth). The ending is very well staged.
All in all, another very good song that, like before, reminds me of you know *smile.
Kind regards, Manuela
Dance huh? Alright!
That main sound with guitar in beginning what instrument was that? Hey I like this you know something's good when your head is nodding! Very 80s which is my favorite era of all music!
Good work man everything sounds great you sound good
Thanks a lot buddy!
Yeah ok maybe not dance, but it's actually a 123 BPM track, so... ;)
There's loads of layered synths in the beginning before the guitar, is that what you meant? Thanks for listening!!

Description : I have been using LooperMan for practice for some time now. This my most recent track. The only loop in the song is BabyGee's vocals. Free to download and if you repost tag me so I can share it as well.
Description : A psychedelic techno cello epic. It's not really techno as it's only 110 BPM but something like that (eg breakbeat), with lots of banging beats and arpeggiated acid synths, plus a whole load of my layered cello playing techniques. There aren't that many synths used but they do a lot of work and are carefully automated. No guitar. Drums are mostly a lot of drum loops, supported by a few programmed acoustic drumkits. Very busy and complicated with loads of different sections (funky, chilled, fast, heavy) that make up a constantly progressing trip. I don't know if there's any other cello music like this so let me know if you think there is. Interesting feedback appreciated - criticism, praise, ideas etc. Enjoy...
Description : Summer type dance track, for those precious 2 weeks off, if you can get them! Made around a selection of different loops and some keys from me.
Description : Inspired by an experimental percussion piece I heard. Rhythmic ticking builds into pounding beats and heavy soundscapes. I haven't done any mixing or mastering yet so tell me what you think. Any and all comments are welcome.
Description : A song about a damaged soul. Sadly, based on a true story. Gorgeous loops here are by Hardstyle Rythm, Aboe, and Princess Hollywood. All basslines by that fiendish genius Rasputin. Take a bow, gentlemen
Description : Pretty basic dance track. Was experimenting with the Falcon synth plugin, hence the name. Instrumentation for the melody lines might be a bit unusual, more orchestral. Vocoder is from the Icarus synth plugin, a great new instrument.
Description : Hello everyone here's a song from my album anymore that really is near and dear to my heart I hope you guys and enjoy it and never let anyone bring you down or tell you that you are good enough!
