Hey mate thanks!....I always try (though not always succeed) in building a tune so it's second half has built on the first and gathers some inertia..whereas most pop songs do it the other way around, and have that annoying or successful habit (depending of which way you look at it) of staying in your head! lol..cheers man, appreciate the listen.

Yes Dave! Man I love this...what a way to start my day! The instrument/percussion you selected are perfect for the movement on this. I love the way you pan the chimes like a wave. Great work and you know I love the tone of your bass, so I won't even mention it here.

wooowooow, INSTRUMENTAL EXPLOSION! love the guitar, wwwwhoa, it like changed. wow, this really is a fusion. Personal query: have you ever fallen asleep listening to this on repeat? I feel like I would have the most epic, African savana, himalayan, monte carlo adventure ever. I love at 3:20 how it like expands, i gotta listen to that part again, h/o.... yeah that pad or something comes in and really fills it out well. Its funny, this also reminds me of the movie, The Time Machine, the new one ya know? I like that movie.. and this song. Well done sir!

You have such a unique style... and while it does not sound similar, I can only compare you to Timbaland.
You are taking your music to new levels, and I pray you get "discovered by more and more".
A musical genius.

Perception - that's the key isn't it? Figuring out our own limitations and blinders. You have no idea how many times I've enjoyed this particular track, Dave. At least 4 of the "unknown user" listens are me (on IE and not logged in). This one gets played A LOT on Mixradio, and some one always comments as well. My own blinder: how seldom I bother to tell you.

Obviously added to my favorites.

Really great track Planet. I think I can safely say that out of all the "not-strictly-electronic" music I have heard here on the looper, your track thus far is the best as far as content, arrangement and "live" feel. You probably know your guitar better than the back of your hand :)! Great work.

Planet,
Totally enjoying the energy here.
Man that bass is smooth.
Just gorgeous.
This fits perfectly as the soundtrack to my SoCal Saturday afternoon. I look out my window to see the trees swaying in the gentle breeze at precisely the same time the panned chimes kick in.
Perfect.
Quality work bro.

I just got a be straight up honest...

If i even didn't even know you -- I would still REALLY dig this..

But since I kinda do, you get bonus points lol

To me...
Honestly, there is this element of DNA, twisting and pulling in and out of the essence of this track....
LIFE!!!

F8CK LIFE!!!--- IT'S EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!

In my youth, i Figure, F8CK the world... but in the woods,, in the deep lost... you know when .. like you don't know if you will survive...
Hunting, and surviving, I can hear this...

I hear a semblance of that?
On the flipside,
This track is more gangster than any hip-hop OR rap track lol :)
and you can quote me on that.
this is amazing.

this one is like chernobyl, on of my favorite pieces of yours, ... I love your legato phrasing..

I would love to learn more from you man!
Ok
anyways
Faved for real,
but put on my iPod, so I can chill out and listen to this...
awesome work!

Hey Abe..thank you for the great review..your comments are as insightful as they are graphic..I think it's interesting to note that certain styles that profess to be hype laden, rely more on their labels than their content..In any dialogue irrespective of it's format the actual message can have many guises and then invariably it's the intent that matters...thanks for tapping into the hidden aspects...I'm just one of an infinite number of monkeys with a typewriter..cheers Dave :)

Hi Dave, In a word, EPIC. This song is so chromatic. There is so many colours, textures and layers to it, it's like a big groovy jazz funk cake filled with lots of great rhythm and melody.
The production is mind blowing!!! It's an amazing track and sound...

Hey Steve..I occasionally take a stroll from the diatonic path..lol..this had a lot of separate elements in it which I know you've had experience with..I think I might keep things a little less cluttered in the future..I've since remastered this and tried to get a little more separation and clarity in the mix..cheers mate..oh,by the way I've got a tune in my head with your name on it!..Dave :)

Inspired by a track of Pseudoble. I was noodling along to his track "I wish I didn't know" (which is awesome) and had the words "Snow in Athens" in my head. This with the smooth jazz/fusion atmosphere led me to this track with a sort of Steely Dan feel.

Description : Psychedelic blues hip hop with lead banjo and acoustic resonator slide guitar. Acoustic drum kits, fat basslines, soaring filtered strings, some strong Eastern elements (from guitar and strings), some dub and funk from the bass and drums and a bit of rocking electric guitar. Very unusual piece of music and a trip like no other I've heard. Some of it is like a dark, deep Southern delta blues track over a hip hop and dub backing. All played and programmed by me, no loops used.

After a quite turbulent long travel we’ve reached a totally unknown planet which is mostly covered with clouds. As we pass over it we can see parts of rivers through the clouds that come out of the dark rocky surface in some places. So the whole scene is alternating textures of white, dark gray and silver flashes. Unfortunately there’s no chance to land anywhere so we just pass, wonder and travel on …
