After two months in the darkness I'm proud to announce looperman V2. The site has been completely rebuilt from the ground up. The database has been streamlined and the design given a facelift.

All the previous data is intact as are all your previous user accounts. You will need to request a new password though as they have all been re encrypted.

Hopefully you'll find the new design easier to use and I'm sure before long you'll know where everything is. You will notice some features that used to exist on the previous site are no longer with us and some new features have made an appearance. That's not to say that some of the missing old features will not make their way back into the new site in the future.

While we are testing out the site in a live environment some areas such as the forums are accessible via invite only. If you dont already have access and think that you should then get in touch. Access will only be granted to users who were active previously though. Another change is regards uploading tracks. For now you are limited to uploading only one track per day rather then the five per week rule that we used to have. There will be a few changes to how the featured tracks work too but Ill let you know about then when its ready.

Youll also notice that we now have a blog. Ill be using this to post articles and tutorials in future and will be moving stuff like the site news and announcements here instead of the forums.

All in all there is a lot more to come and some sections still work in progress but for now enjoy the new site and if you find any problems get in touch.

Finally thanks for all the support from those of you who waited patiently and a massive thank you to those who helped out with beta testing.

Glad to be back. Love the new look, but I cant upload any loop. I'we made a whole loop package that weights about 250 mb but I realy cant upload a songle one. Need some help ? :)

Hi all,

I am sure this is probably the incorrect place for this, but I want to know how exactly I can go about requesting access to the forums?

I made this new account very shortly before the site went down so didnt get chance to be much of an "active member" with it, but on my old account, "Dekidasu" I believe I was a fairly active participant in the community and was so for a good while, but now I feel rather alienated :(

Nice to be back,but I miss a lot of the old features.
The site seams to be missing the oomph it used to have.Hope it comes back gradually,but maybe it's just me,I don't enjoy change that much.Why fix something that's not broken?

The only thing that I find missing that I really liked on the old site - and maybe you've already addressed this - was the points-based ranking system. (where you got different colors for your name) Will this come back?

Well it's good to see Looperman back, I miss the plays counter from the old site, not so keen on the new Featured track, bit low down in the page I think, the site does looks a little generic now, sorry to moan but I'm only being honest. Good to be back tho.

Well done indeed! I like the new interface and layout, yet I don't really feel like there's much that's new in terms of functionality? Are these listed somewhere or on the way? I think I used to be able to edit comments too.. not anymore?

i just decided to check on looperman and its back man did I miss it. when you bored and dont have any new samples the loop comes through everytime its a great idea and Im glad its back. Great job the site looks excellent. Im getting my loops together now yeehaw!

I miss how it used to show how many folks on the site at any given time. Also I cant quite get the hang of how to "order" my tracks - when uploading it has a box to put a number in (default is 0) but seems no matter what I put in there it just kind of randomly shows up somewhere - also I am not able to download my own tunes when I go to delete them and when I do delete (to make room for something new) it takes me to an "ooops" page. Also I miss that I used to be able to jump around to different pages WHILE a song was playing - so if I was listening to someones tune and wanted to post a comment at least the song wouldnt stop the moment the new page loaded to post the comment - it's all good and I appreciate all of the work that has been put in, but honestly (for the sake of honest feedback) I actually like the old site much better and I dont spend as much time here as I used to.

@KemiOh - it means that unless you had been given automatic validation to upload loops then you can't upload them to the site at the moment.
It is temporary.

Allen, thats been fixed and should now show on the tracks admin page. For now it only effects the order of tracks as shown on your profile tracks page

Hey y'all, this is my first visit to the new and improved site, nice job Shan! I am not currently online where I just moved to. Hoping to be online soon and I'm using the public library web access right now. I apologize to everyone who has been emailing me and giving me reviews these past few weeks, I will try to respond as soon as time allows. Hoping to be online soon at the new place.

I hope everyone has been great since the loop shut down a while back. I wish I could say things in Humpville have been peachy but I can't. About 4 weeks ago I had a total meltdown of my hard drive and lost the last 6 months of songs, some I have absolutely no record of. I am back up and running and just beginning to record again. I still need to install Reason and a few vsti's but I think I'm close to being totally up and running.

Health issues have me down these days, as some of you know. Things seem to be getting figured out but it has been a long, tedious adventure and it has affected my creative process negatively but I hope to upload something new in the next few weeks.

I wish you all the best and once again a big high five to Shan for the new and improved site!

Nice clean look. It's always tough to present a new & improved site given people's aversion to change. So far so good, will take a bit to get used to but I give you props for taking the time and energy to upgrade, kudos.

bug reports made here and without any info are impossible to solve.

few people seem to have a few issues downloading stuff. I think this might have been when they tried via the user profile sections as i found a mistake there which has now been fixed (i hope)

Excellent job Shan, love the layout. My only thing quip is that there should be a universal search bar to find thing right away, like a Google just for the site.

Oh, and an automatic randomized music player/radio would be REALLY cool.

All in all, I'm really glad this site is back. What am awesome way to start off the month!

This is so great, nice look on the site and I'm working my way around it.
Two questions however:
Tried to search for my friend using his handle as ID, didn't work and used the other option (keyword) and got a lot of hits. Is that the intention of the search opportunity?
The other was about comments, the list starts of with the first at the top – how to see the most recent posts?

I do appreciate that the site us up again, there's no one like it in the world and I thank you for your efforts, Shan.

I just wish that we could upload more than 1 track at tha moment. Other than that, I happy tha Loop is up and runnin'.

Hi Zatch, after taking a look at your profile and loops you have already uploaded I added you to the pre auth list. One thing to mention though is try and use the description field to describe the loop rather then adding a generic message.

We seem to have been experiencing pretty sluggish page loads since the site came online today.

Im working through a few things and ironing out the problems as we go so stick with it.

If you spot any particular issues you can always mail me via my profile page with some information on whats wrong.

Shan, I'm not sure how you did all of this work by yourself, but you deserve a huge virtual pat on the back for a job well done. The "new" Looperman.com looks fantastic and functions as good as it looks.
