Description : Our first track for this year - First production did start at 0.30 - 03.00am 2025. A powerful start into the new year and our first production attempt for a Rock song.
A big thanks to David Cicalo Muse 'Dirty rhythm Guitar Loop' - This inspired my first rock vocal. You can find us on Bandcamp for this track: kayos2.bandcamp.com/track/why-wont-you-rock-me

If you have time take a listen and give Kayos2 some feedback.
In December you commented on one of my tracks and I said I'd check yours out but I got side tracked so much! This is the first track I've had a listen to properly and it's so clean and smooth on my ears. I love it! This is better than what some of my favourite bands put out!! Love all the ear candy floating around my headphones. I will be listening on repeat :D
My bad I know I'm late but I'm here and that bass is stomping I don't think I've heard something like this from you at least this style of form. Oh wait great switch! I like that cuz I'm going to do that too I like to trick The Listener in the beginning and then switch it on no you did really good on that I like that! Over all excellent lay out! Great instrumentation!
Thank you Chris - I think we have covered a fair few genres but this is our first bash at Rock and we loved it -I did a spontaneous vocal recording early hours New Years Day and Oli produced it by 03.00 New Year's Day ;)
I think this might well be your best track I've heard from you guys yet. I love these vocals. A bit B52ish, in the shrieking sounds - it works really really well. Kudos!!
Thank you for your encouraging feedback, Richard. I just went for it and kept my fingers crossed with the vocals. Oli is v intuitive with mixing - thank gooodness! Have a great day, Kay
very cool - great sound, solid drums and bass and standout guitar sounds with perfect production but its the vocal performance that I really like - reminds me of the late great Chrissy Amphlett of the Divinyls (look em up if you dont know them)
WHAT!? Where in the world did this come from? This is the kind of stuff u should be doing, for real guys. Im speechless, all i can say atm is that Im floored. And maybe a bit bummed u didnt let me come up with some guitar stuff for u :/ If u had let me hear 20 seconds of this when u were still working on it, id have gleefully tried to give ya something to fit with it, still working within the parameters u set of course. If u decide to do something similar, I really like to work with u on it in some capacity. This one is my favorite of all favorites from u , superbly done Oli/kay. hats off to u. -Aaron
So so kind of you, thank you. Glad u like it - we will definitely remember you for any more rock guitar stuff -Your encouraging words mean so much to us Kay
Well, considering it's a first attempt at rock, I'd say you're off to a good start. The Rock Genre is so vast that it covers a lot of area. It does have some traditional rock elements to it, but it's really more of an Alternative-retro-pop type thing. I like the dynamics in the vocals. They're reminiscent of that period were grunge was still breaking free from Punk in the late 80s and very early 90s.
If this is a genre you're looking to dive deeper into performing, I suggest, based on your vocal timbre and style, looking into Kat Bjelland (Babes In Toyland), Donita Sparks (L7), Selene Vigil (7 Year Bitch), and Jessicka Addams (Jack Off Jill). If it's a genre you don't plan on diving deeper into, check them out anyhow....they stomped the way for so many after them.
Keep 'em rolling, and take care.

Thank you so much for the recommendations and listening - We really appreciate that and will check out these bands ;) That's the great thing about LM - you get to learn stuff. Kay
I need more of this sound in my ears. Kinda reminiscent of a grungy nu school breaks line I was buying vinyls of a while back. But a great sound I hope you develop and master more. Cheers ears
I do agree with Rita, you can express your fantasy with your voice, so well. The way you manipulate all this energy is something I admire to your performance. I have written to you again, it is that vivid way of yours that really captures me as a listener. Simply, so full of life that I really enjoy it. Of course I have to mention that there is always a perfect musical background elaborated by the musical "mind" of Oli something that sure is critical to a great listen.
My best regards, Anthony.
Thanks Anthony - I seem to be able to channel my inner whatever, to be able to vocalise the song. We really appreciate your feedback, it is v encouraging. Thank you Kay
Pretty wild vox, vamping it up good! Guitars sound great and I enjoyed the quieter break down sections too with the keys (?). Interesting work, enjoyed!
Well anyway you have a beautiful voice and i like it how you do sometimes weird with your voice. You can express the weird fantasy in your head through your voice something I often have in my head, but when the sound comes out of my mouth it is different (terrible) than if I fantasized lol. My compliments.
ok now i feel so so stupid.
I always tought you are a man because of the name kay.
I thougt the woman in your tracks were vocals from internet.
And i thought you used a plugin to change your voice.
I think im the only one on LM that stupid lol
No worries The name Kay is female in UK but male in Germany At least you know now I do all the feamle singing, lol. Easy misunderstanding, Rita, you are not stupid, just logical ;) lol lol lol
Hello VintageNights, my friend i think you're off to a great start with this track....it's definitely rockin, and right from the top.....love those guitars and the vocals are something special as well. This is very good brother.
Hi Kay
Definitely rock.
I hear a familiar little piece of tune in there at 0:57 etc 2:05 which is a very good combination.
Good job mister
The vocal is also very special but fits perfectly.
Loving it this is way cool rocked my socks off you guys did lol brilliant first go attempt id say reminds me on someone but cant put my finger on it, anyway brilliant rock track from you two. :)

Description : This is my newest creation, at a stage very near to completion. No third-party mastering or mixing, as with all my tracks. Just have to fix a few tiny things. I FINALLY WAS ABLE TO MIX EVERYTHING IN THE SAME SESSION. This song has all human-played instruments - no quantization or MIDI! My brother does all the vocals except for the interlude part, which I do. My other brother plays the rhythm guitar (a Gibson Les Paul Custom - only one of 12 in the world!!) and I play the accompanying guitar (a Johnny Mar Jag and PRS). He has a lot of guitars :P A good friend of ours, Ronnie, plays the bass and another friend, Freddie, plays the drums. The drum track was done in one take (had to use an electric drum set due to time constraints - but acoustic kits are so much better). Overall, pretty satisfied with the result. Let me know your thoughts.
Description : Feel free to check out the lyrics video on YT as well :) This is a new track based on the great vocals by Ashes and Dreams! Again, a mix of electronic/progressive/rock, any feedback is welcome
Description : The first track I sing on. Cheap stage mic & no fancy plugins. Heavily guitar laden to the point it's got a bit of a shoegaze thing going on. I pulled the lyrics out of my ass & yes, they're a bit silly.
Description : BIG UPDATE 26/02/2014 - So, this was an 18 min track that I have now successfully split in two. 2nd half I uploaded a few weeks ago (Things That Should Always Be, with the bouncy 2 min reggae intro). This is the first half, which has a new mix, a mega chill, meditative ending and a little jazz thrown in for good measure. Takes a few minutes for beat to really kick in. Constantly evolving electric guitar, bass guitar, acoustic drums and lead banjo driven by fat, busy 80BPM grooves with a bit of a reggae and shuffle feel. Also: synth choir voices, dulcimer, violin, cello, shimmering pads. Builds up gradually to nice and rocking and then gets taken back down for the big comedown chill. I really don't know what sort of genre this is except 'far out'. I think it sounds more like a live band than one guy playing instruments and manipulating a DAW. Not my best track but a bit of blissful, sunny island fun. Real positive vibe here so I hope you give it a chance to unfold and unfurl. Sit back, clear your schedule and immerse yourself in these trippy sonic experiments cooked up deep in my off-planet underground laboratory. I have to send the MP3 to Earth via space courier (not cheap).
Description : This track was like the inhale after an exhale of aggressive industrial-electro-sludge tracks that I had put out that summer and fall. This was the more reserved, and introspective winter track. It's nothing spectacular, but I still really enjoy it. I hope you do too. Take care. V.
Description : when i was a kid you could go down and buy acid drops at the dairy - sour boiled sweets....vox, guitars and keys by me. Bass a LM loop by megapaul.
plus i dig that breakbeat sound
Happy new rock year !
